I've been on the hunt for one of these for a while, and I'm pretty excited to finally be able to add it to my collection. This matches well with my mid-sized lionbot, and once I figure out how to fix the mising right elbow connector - I'll display them side by side. Do you guys think the cheap $25.00 dairugger on ebay can be used to source the elbow connector - I'm not sure it can be made to fit. Both sides of the box are similar, but one is in english, the other in japanese. The Front (or back) of the box: Dairugger - The largest offical diecast dairugger! The back (or front) of the box.

I don't think the modern bootleg can be used to fix the elbow problem due to different designs. The modern bootleg has only the upper half of the elbow (white part in the pic), and uses a screw to connet it with the 2 black pieces extened from the forearm. It should work better if you can find parts from the vintage bootleg, since it has the same design as the authentic GB-72.

It’s too bad that the modern bootlegs are different, I’ll have to find some other way to source parts for a repair.

Hi, that's going to be a hard part to find on ebay because the mid-size version wasn't sold in the USA so few loose parts for sale. Your best bet is to hunt on yahoo auction japan for it.

*sigh*I realize it might be hard to find. I'm thinking to display this, it looks like I might be able to take the modern dairugger - plug the top part of the elbow into the the GB-72, can just display it with the KO's right fist attached. I'll just keep the original fist in the box - until I can find the part.

I sold one of these last year for a friend and last time I went back to his house to get more toys, I'm pretty sure I saw a second boxed, but beat up specimen lying around. I didn't grab it because I had a bunch of other stuff, but next time I go, I'll see what he's got.

Wow, let me know if he’s got one that he’s willing to sell.

What’s even cooler is that several RBJ members contacted me with useful information on locating the missing parts! And I was able to get a beater from a collector in Taiwan!
Thanks to everyone! Can’t wait to get the beater and fix the Popy (hopefully the transplant will go smoothly)

So I got the specimen that was at my friend's house. It also has a broken left arm, but the break is at the shoulder, not the elbow. There's also a small 3D printed piece of plastic on one of the legs that allows you to connect the foot so that it rests snugly against the bottom of the leg rather than have that garish looking gap. I'm not sure why there's only one though. I'll try to find out more about that and what price he wants for it. The MIB one we sold last year fetched $400 and this one has the box, styrofoam, paperwork, weapons, etc. but just has that broken arm.

I have one in my collection 10 years ago, I have to take pictures of it to make sure it is ok coz I remember I’ve looked at it once from the inside when it arrived.

I liked this so much, once I found out there was a bootleg made with a similar mold, I had to get one. So I added one to my collection as well!

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm planning on doing as well! I just have to go find time to fetch my mid sized lionbot from storage... I'm still not sure if I want to display him (I've never transformed him before), but what the use of keeping in the box - collecting dust..
