I really, really want this Gaogaigar, and there's a pretty high likelyhood that I'll get it probably by selling SOC Voltron and CCS Gurren Lagann and Mazinger Zero. But I do have to wonder if it really will feel worth it in the end. It reminds me of when I got my Max Gokin Big O, which at the time it came out was $400 and was a completely insane price. I did end up getting Big O and it's a pretty awesome figure, but to be honest I think I've gotten more enjoyment out of my SOC (also the Max Gokin has rubber parts that are beginning to fray and the legs are getting weak). Also, if they ever do make a Metal Build Gaogaigar, I'd probably regret paying for this Pose+, since it would undoubtedly be less expensive and Metal Build is my main mecha collection.
I really want to collect Pose+, but the prices are making it hard to keep up with.

I can't wait until pictures come out showing the articulation. Extra greebles are great and all but that's what's really going to sell me on it. Really hoping for ab crunch, waist swivel, and back hip swing in combined form.

Man this is another great figure that is way outta my price range. I haven't gotten a new figure in awhile because I just can't afford this new norm in price levels I'm really starting to miss the SRC line.

Preorders starting to pop up in stores. Saw it on HobbySearch & RoboToyBase. Might be more.
This 2021 might end up being the most expensive year in my collection career. DX Voltes, Ideon, possibly this, a couple other POSE+, a few Metal Builds & GFFMC, DX Macross VF-1D....and it is only January. This is getting really crazy...

HLJ had this promotion a few weeks ago that gives you a 20% off coupon for future use. If you have that, it brings their price down to HK levels but most likely with better shipping rates. Robotoybase's shipping rates have always been a rip off. Somewhere around 90USD for just the standard shipping was the quote for a Baikanfu when that's DHL/Fedex for other retailers already.

My most recent order from RoboToyBase shipped with EMS (since EMS from HK to US is still ok). It was POSE+ Goshogun & the SOC Weapon Set, cost me US$102 to ship. Took just about 1 week to get here. For GGG, their initial price is very good. Assume shipping is at least $100, since it is not gonna be a small box. But compare to HobbySearch shipping my POSE+ Baikanfu, it was a $160 DHL. So while RoboToyBase's shipping might be high under normal circumstances, it actually on par or maybe even a tad cheaper unless you find deals or have discount coupons else where. They have the advantage of being local and can offer local HK pricing, compare to Japanese or US shops that needs to import POSE+. |
