This might help with the diecast content argument I couldn’t watch the video now but what did he say about the die cast?

So DX Voltes V is about 1400 Grams. Not a heavy weight, but I wouldn't say it is light either. Being roughly the weight of two GX-31 Voltes, that sounds about right.
From some of the older Gold's review data, the SOC weights as follow:
Combattler V 600 Grams Daimos 650 Grams Voltes V roughly 700 Grams Daltanious 874 Grams Daitarn 927 Grams Godsigma 1086 Grams Godmars 1135 Grams Ideon 1382 Grams

I couldn’t watch the video now but what did he say about the die cast? From the video, diecast parts are the following: Crewzer - "cowl/helmet" of Voltes, but not the pointy tip. Bomber - joints only Panzer - front half of the chest Frigate - joints and back halves of the thighs Lander - the whole red parts and joints

Well my DX Voltes V arrived from AJ and, unfortunately as expected, it was sent simply with the shipping label pasted on the brown box. It looks like DHL in their infinite wisdom laid it on its side and stacked a lot of stuff on it. The contents were compressed so much it deformed the brown box and the top and bottom flaps are now bulging out. I am not really looking forward to opening it. :/

I think mine should be here later today. Only one retailer double boxed a DX and that was Amiami for my DX Combattler. HLJ just slapped a shipping label on the shipper as well for DX Maz and Great Maz. Sorry to hear that and hopefully your toy’s box and contents are fine.

I am not really looking forward to opening it. :/ Can you post some pics to show how bad it was damaged? When Amazon Japan used to deliver to Australia, their packaging wasn't the best. Thin single wall cardboard boxes (and I mean thin!) with little packing materials in the box to keep item secure or taped to bottom of box. CDs/DVDs used to be sent in boxes and now just in padded envelopes and one of my packages for a DVD was just sent in a plain envelope. Damn! That was fast! I think mine should be here later today. Only one retailer double boxed a DX and that was Amiami for my DX Combattler. HLJ just slapped a shipping label on the shipper as well for DX Maz and Great Maz. Sorry to hear that and hopefully your toy’s box and contents are fine. CDJapan did it as well for DX Combattler IIRC. I did e-mail HLJ about double boxing DX Combattler back in Sep 2017: Just an (late) update on the email I sent to HLJ regarding Combattler V DX regarding whether or not they will ship the figure with the cardboard outer box. In short, they replied: - HLJ will ship it the best way they can. Essentially if the manufacturer shipped it with just the outer box, then they would probably ship it that way. If damage were to occur in transit, then HLJ have the appropriate mechanisms/policies to cater. - It would add additional shipping cost, if the it were to ship the figure with the outer box in another box. If you ordered with HLJ, maybe send them an email requesting to repackage your order of Combattler V to have the figure and outer box inside a HLJ box (sounds confusing?). I think if more people asked, then HLJ might cater to the request. I can only "guess" the high cost of HLJ shipping for DX Voltes are - they're using a private courier service AND/OR - the increase in cost in posssibly due to double boxing

My bad! Going through my purchase histories from different retailers it looks like I bought my DX Combattler from CDJapan. I find to strange that none of my past orders from HLJ are showing up under my account kind like I’ve never ordered from them.

I was really disappointed and annoyed at the condition it arrived in, so I called up a local buddy who missed the pre-order and sold it off to him at a little loss. Since he opens and displays his stuff he doesn't mind. Luckily I had managed to secure another pre-order from a local toy store back then as well, and since they get from a Bandai distributor the condition should be alright. But I don't have one to keep mint in box and one to play with now. Oh well. I'm just progressively getting more and more tired at these manufacturers and their retail partners who want customers to pay premium pricing for products but then also try to cut corners as much as possible. I'm getting really sick of it. Buying SOC from Amazon JP, Target exclusive G.I.Joe Classified figures, Walmart exclusive The Real Ghostbusters figures... all arriving trashed because they just don't care. Now for Amazon you're lucky if you even get a padded envelope.....

Been a while since ive posted on here(sh*ttest year ever), but I hope everyone is doing well and being safe. Thanks again for posting that A-E had this in stock and was able to get this within 2 days after ordering from japan. This beast is awesome and really like how bandai went into making this and fixing alot of issues I had with the gx-31. Only complaint for me is that the number 2 bgm on the display base doesnt play for some reason(minor flaw and is probably just my copy). A-E shipped this double boxed(huge box) and everything was in place very nicely. Amiami and eknight was my original sources for ordering this but I cancelled my amiami order to order at A-E. Will still be ordering my second copy from eknight. Im also glad the height is about the same as dx combattlers. Hope everyone gets their's soon. Will definitely order from A-E again. Probably toty for me(however the pose+ baikanfu is up there also I would think as that thing looks amazing and dumps on the bandai version no offense). Shipping was 21400 yen(200 usd) but for it to arrive so fast, it was definitely worth it.

But given the hi cost of direct shipping from Japan, I wonder if it kinda of worked out to be about the same to buy from a US retailer and only paid for USPS

Yeah gonna give Amiami and CDJ a try for the next SOC pre-order. The main reason why I've been using AJ is that I've had better luck putting in my pre-orders with them. Previous attempts with Amiami and CDJ have so far been unsuccessful.

Hard to tell honestly but looking at them I think voltes eyes are clear/dark yellow clear kinda like the stand is for the boazanian fighter it comes with. I dont put batteries into my dx so it may be harder to tell from my end. Hope this helps.
