i did the same BUT
as soon i receive the figure, i do a quick check, then when i have time i go through every single thing while taken pics, then i put it back in the box due to the limitation of space
now after i finally got a display cabinet, after taking pics they immediately go inside, but just the figures no accessories or display stands
my point is some collectors give me the feeling that they are collecting boxes NEVER open anything just store it right away not even for check ups
of course do whatever make your day but these suckers are made to be displayed and enjoyed

I am one of those that doesn't check stuff often. Just have too much stuff and no more dedicated space in my cabinets to fit new ones, with some exceptions if it is something I am really excited to open up right away. But many fall into the category of "preordered half a year to a year ago and all the hype is gone by the time I received it", and goes to the pile of unopened toys, until one day something piques my interest to open it, be it a conversation with a friend, a forum discussion, a show or video I re-watched, or a new appearance in SRW games. While not proud of it, I suppose it has an advantage of having some sealed toys to sell if I ever changed my mind on keeping them (though almost never happen LOL, more of an excuse really).

Ok, I finally did the deed and opened my DX Voltes V today. Wow, it felt like Christmas today. I'm glad there were no QC issues (phew!).
My only regret is I didn't open him yesterday (Saturday), so that I can have an extra day to enjoy everything. This toy is amazing!!

They never leak, just get drained out of power if you left it for too long (a couple years). Similar to batteries in watches, imagine how often watches get ruined if they are very prone to leakage, when you can't even remove it yourself on some. But for AA and AAA batteries, those you can't leave them in for too long. They WILL leak no matter what the brand tells you. Don't leave them in for more than a few months.

Oh man! Over at the FleaBay, there has been a couple of these DX sell for ~$1,800 lately (w/ shipping). The average seems to be around $1,100 to $1,200 and some are still available at this price. Why would somebody buy this at $1,800? I'm truly curious.

I guess being nostalgic has its price I mean fleabay seller has its high tag price because of the fees ebay is getting from them. But then again are fans really buying it at the price tag?

i had an experience with this type of batteries, i remember it was the king art Grendizer the batteries were fine no leak no nothing, i stored it next to my tv stand couple of days later i unbox it to take some photos only to find out soime of these batteries started leaking and it was ugly, so it became a rule never store any type of batteries inside or next to any figure, use them for pics then take them out

never let anyone use your passion for something against you, a while back a guy wanted to sell me a digital version ps5 for $800, of course i said no, then he said i will sweeten the deal for you i will add an extra controller and a game of your choice for an extra $50, again i said no
alot of people want to get rich so quick so they overprice stuff, they are missing a key point which is the economy is back on its feet yet, and at least some of us are not stupid to pay

Ps5 are mass produce but yeah the supply ain't much at the moment but its getting there specially with the holiday season ahead. While for the DX Voltes V its a limited run unless Bandai made another batch to please the fandom. I probably skip buying PS4 and save up for a PS5 but the resale price of the PS4 are so cheap, its tempting. lol

due to the chips shortage the PS5 became like its a limited run production, Sony want to pump more into the market but they cant, same with cars and other products
so its very similar case to Voltes, the demand is high but there isnt enough units to goes around,
as we all know so far none of the DX releases got a reissue, its an awful thing to be honest since most of my friends need a DX Mazinger in their life
i highly recommend you dont get a ps4 at the moment even the pro version, save up for the ps5, this time around Sony wants to kill the ps4\pro as soon as possible, not like the ps3 to ps4 change
also keep your eyes open some stores have a restock with a retail price, i also read that Sony will sell a PS5 directly if you sign up with them or something like that

I didn't even get a chance to go through the bottom tray to my DX Voltes V last Sunday, although I did get to peek at it all quickly. (That electromagnetic "V" piece was huge LOL). I'm excited for "Round 2" to check out all the accessories.
I can't wait to simulate the Voltes Bazooka which was my favorite weapon during the cartoon show.

I really hope this thing gets a reissue at some point. It looks incredible, but I’m not about to pay the crazy late fee people are now asking for

It looks incredible, but I’m not about to pay the crazy late fee people are now asking for It's only $800 on Anime Export, that seems reasonable. www.anime-export.com/index.php?product=54244Joking aside, I hope they reissue it as well. But since they still haven't reissued the highly demanded DX Mazinger, I don't think they'll ever reissue this.

its a very long shot for the DX Mazinger to get a reissue it was an anniversary release and those doesn't get a 2nd run
and so far none of the DX line got a reissue so the prices will only go up

Anime-Export is legit. Just that $800 is almost $200 over retail, with $100-200 shipping on top of that. But given the DX is pretty rare now, $800 is not that ridiculous.
