I'd rather Takara-Tomy re-introduce the Binaltech line. They were good quality.

Preorders went up yesterday...I decided to buy the red guy. I find him better-looking than Skids.

Same. Better looking (though looks like Prime's long lost little brother), and comes with the mini motorbike and the hologram man, which Skids doesn't. The only downside is the car engine bay not looking as nice/real with the light gray when compared to the dark colors on Skids'. I suppose their strategy is to take advantage of Skids being a known character so most collectors will buy him first, then make Reboost look like Prime and throw attractive extras with him so collectors will buy the repaint too. The price is dial back closer to the earlier car bots as well. Not a bad business move actually.

^ There isn't any gokin in the Masterpiece so that could be why they are "cheaper". I dunno. Part of what made MPs alluring to me was gokin...and now, I've startd with it and well, will continue onwards though, I've been selective lately as I decided being a completist was no longer realistic.

I wasn't a completist to begin with, so I have been pretty selective for a long while on this line. This bring something new to the line (bike in trunk, realistic retro car, baby Prime LOL), and the price is not bad after discount US$70-90 depending where you buy. So I bite.

I have to say I like the blue version on this.

If the red version had pinstripes on the sides like the blue, I would have got that version (red)

This line is now really inconsistent in term of design...
Inferno was the new deal with flatten surfaces and toon proportions,.
Then MP sunstreaker gave a good balance of what TT did before and adde a pinch of cartoon canon.
This SKIDS is a move back to MP-10 and MP BB 1.00.
Over detailed, no effort to give robot nice design for the limbs : I am targetting the arm here.
Shoulders got a huge hinge, biceps design is broken by the engineering...
Check the versus of hips (boxed as hell) and thighs having curves and body dynamic...

Too many contradictions...

I preordered those 2...

Reboost arrived courtesy of Amazon Japan...solid figure. Really enjoyable to transform. The mini-figurine (transparent) that goes on the scooter is total junk though. Falls apart on contact.
