Yup. Boxset PO is not up yet, 4/28, most likely 4pm Japan time (US pacific time 4/28 12am midnight) like usual on regular releases. Keep your eyes on all major shops like Amiami, HLJ, CDJapan, Anime-export...etc. like normal. Get your F5 finger ready. By the time I'm sitting at my computer that morning after getting the kid to school and etc., those usual outlets are gonzo for me...which drives me insanity. It'll likely be some marked-up seller that I'll have to track down. It's so frustrating to get these toys sometimes. Ugh. I'm still on the hunt for the Blueberry Zaku (GFMCC). Totally, though I got lucky this time, thanks to Lejam's post late last night. This one, need to stay up next Tues night midnight, or 3am east coast,  if you want the set. |

Unlike the DX VF-1D, I was able to snag a pre-order this time through AE for the armour only. Learned my lesson and checked them out before Tamashii Web went live. Now I can ignore the pre-order madness for the bundle on the 28th.

I'll keep Lunapark as a backup -- their markup is pretty steep for a "mass release" of a 33,000JPY set.
Chances are, I'll end up using them knowing my horsebleep luck at getting in right at PO launch.

Yeah, screw the hassle of dealing with the pre-order online camp out nightmare. I have never scored one of the previous DX Valkyries with any of those. I paid for my bundle edition at Luna Park. Was able to apply a New Customer promo code discount of 2000 yen to my order. I rather pay extra and secure one than end up frustrated and pissed off I missed out. Can't wait for September. So, the armor set comes with the extra VF-1J head (gray visor cowl). I guess that means the head of the VF-1J is interchangeable? Does it pop off? Do the heads of all of the DX valks pop off?
Would buying a VF-1S and the GBP armor exclusive allow me to switch the head out and make it look like an armored VF-1J?

From what I hear from Toysdaily forum, 1S head is very hard to pull off, to a point the guy didn't try to force it and gave up (it might still be possible, but is an unknown). 1J's head on the other hand came off easier and revealed its a simple ball joint neck connection. See pic from there attached.  If you look at video reviews, you can see the 1S neck and 1J neck are different shape and size. Since the ball joint that comes apart is not the base of the neck, but the head connection, there is a good chance even if you removed 1S's head, they are not compatible. 1S body with a 1J head will show some plastic color mismatch and with wrong backpack fins color showing. You might as well just have 1S wearing the armor. It is still legit, just not depicted in the show.  |
