This announcement couldn't come in a better timing. Since I got a Switch Lite recently, was pondering if I should get the SRW X (the one I skipped), just to have a SRW game to play on the system. Then this teaser shows up...SWEET! Not a lot of info yet in terms of the series roster. But I am liking what I see here, with some old favorites and some visual upgrade. English subtitle version probably available at launch as they put out the English teaser the same time. Very looking forward to this. One thing I noticed is the SRW 30 logo has the Go Nagai logo implemented in it. Possibly this SRW roster is very Go Nagai centric. Here is one of the better compilation video of the road to 30th Anniversary. Especially like the roster lists and glimpses of the title screens and music played, as some of the older games have a really nice title theme, very nostalgic. Didn't realize some of these games are so old, and I have played more of them than expected. Especially the old ones, almost all of them...

Thanks for the info mpchi The trailer's kinda weird to me though, I got excited cuz Combattler wasn't "super deformed" during Chodenji Yoyo animation. Then Infinity Maz appeared, half body was okay, then zoomed out to reveal he's SD and the other mechs as well... da hecc...

Just that they use 'cut-in' shots so often that it does sometimes give the illusion of non-SD sprites. I just hope we get more old school favorites come back this time, with brand new animations. Combattler V is a good start. Voltes V, Jeeg, Raideen, Gaiking, Daimos, Dangaioh, Macross, Ideon...miss seeing them in SRW for a good while. Danguard Ace would be nice too, don't think he ever showed up in a SRW game.

If this is a Go Nagai centric anniversary release, Grendizer needs to show. What would be even cooler, is Grendizer Infinity design (from the model kit to match the Mazinger Z they already showed), but retain the original story. Preorders are up at Play-Asia already.

Given GX-100 getting all the hype right now, I wonder if Bandai Namco already planned Gaiking and Daikumaryu to be featured in this SRW30, since SRW is more or less a toy commercial after all. And this would coincide with the GX-100 release perfectly. If so, I would be very happy to see their return.

Big review in the SRW 30th celebration thanksgiving fest. Some big surprises with Gaiking & Voltes not making the roster, while old favorites like L-Gaim and 0079 Gundam made the list. There are quite a few new surprises. I'll let you find out from the video. They are having a pretty interesting "Collector's Edition", packed with a Metal Robot Damashii Ka Signature Huckebein 30 (this is the main protagonist mech in this game). This is probably gonna be a pretty expensive boxset! Attachments:

Big news! SRW30 is available WORLDWIDE on Steam!store.steampowered.com/app/898750/Super_Robot_Wars_30/Not sure if it will also get a worldwide release on consoles, but this is still a huge step for SRW. I don't play on PC, so still likely get stuck importing SRW30. But very glad some of you guys can easily purchase this game for PC, and have the franchise being able to be enjoyed by more folks all over the world.

Looks like a confirmation that US release will be Steam/PC only, as shown in the end of this US trailer.
Guess console gamers will still need to import it like old times (physical or digital). Though doesn't seem too hard to do depending on which console and where you get it from. PSN worked well with a Singapore account, I remember, since everythng still on PSN Store is in English. Just tried to make a HK Switch account last night and downloaded the SRW T HK eShop (previously playing on PS4) since they are having a 60% OFF on SRW V, X, T there. Pretty straight forward, as long as you can read the Chinese menu, get some HK credits from Play-Asia, redeem the codes for eShop cash, then buy and download. I suppose I can do the same with SRW 30 if I ever want some of the DLCs.

SRW30 DLC1 info is out. Voltes V is in!!! Watch it for yourself below. And game demo is also out for you to download and play! (PSN & Switch only for now, on Japanese PSN and Japanese Nintendo eshop, not on Steam yet). For folks interested in getting this game, especially in English, here is some important info for you. As you may already know, SRW30 has a worldwide English release, but that only goes on PC (Steam). If you want to play on PS4/5 or Nintendo Switch, you still have to import it. Normally, we would go buy a physical Asian English copy through PlayAsia. This is still a valid option (the Asia English physical you find there is pretty much the Japanese disc with a English cover this time). However, one big change from previous games is that, this time around, the English version is on the Japanese release disc, as well as Japanese digital download. So rather than going through getting other Asian countries like HK or Korea and expect to include English version there, it is not the case this time. If you want to import a digital English version, you have to get it through Japan PSN or Japan Nintendo eshop (which you need to setup an account there if you don't already have). For PSN, Singapore used to be an option for getting the digital English ver., but I cannot confirm if it still works this time due to the change. If you want any of the DLC content, like Voltes V, you will have to go through the same route even if you decided to buy the English physical copy (a repackaged Japanese disc), setup a Japanese account on your console platform, and purchase add-on downloadable content there. Most likely you will run into credit card issues when making payment with your oversea credit card, as Japanese PSN or eshop don't accept foreign credit cards. So to make payments, you can buy Japan PSN cash card or Japan Nintendo eshop cash card at PlayAsia. You get codes instantly upon check out. Buy enough cards in the yen amount you need, submit those on Japan PSN or Nintendo eshop to fill your virtual wallet in yen, then make payment using those wallet funds for the game's digital download and DLCs you want. It can be tricky to browse in the Japanse PSN or eshop to find SRW30, when you can't type Japanese. But thanks to the name of the game, just search "30" should let you find it without too much trouble. Previous SRW games have their English version in the Asia copies, but not this time. It is in the Japanese release. So that change things up a bit. Hope this helps. *UPDATE - Heard from a couple source that Singapore PSN indeed has the English demo to download for PS4/5. So it is likely it is another source to get the game there in English. Here is a video I found that show you how to set up a Singapore PSN account, so you can try out the demo.

Last DLC for SRW30 is coming. Even though you may not be interested in the game, it reveals a new design on the Ultimate Dancouga (penned by Obari), and a new version of Scopedog (penned by Kunio Okawara). Also the first animated footage of Getter Devolution. Worth a look. Who knows, we may see these in toy form some day.
