The batteries come pre-installed! So, make sure to take them out if you plan to leave the toy displayed for a long period of time. If the batteries start to leak, it will ruin the battery chamber and affect the electronics. Gold Gold, So collectors who want to keep their GX-100 mint-in-box are out of luck? Any suggestions? Thanks! Yeah, there's no getting around that, the batteries will eventually leak and cause a huge mess. Happened to my V1 SOC Tetsujin, luckily I removed the batteries and placed them in a baggie but stored it still with the Tetsujin just to see what would happen. How long before batteries leak? Depends on storage conditions and actual quality of the battery. Some brands leak within a year, some almost 4 or 5 years? Gold

Gold - thank you so much for mentioning the Tetsujin there! I had missed the v1 Tetsujin and Black Ox when going through and removing batteries a while back. Both had a bit of leakage, but neither was too bad and the compartments cleaned up OK.
Now I'm wondering if there's a master list of modern gokin that shipped with batteries installed. Probably a topic for another thread though.

It's unfortunate how this didn't succeed at retail. While I didn't buy it I do want more stuff like this from companies.

Still gotta add in almost another $200 to ship it but yeah, stock is pretty abundant on this. I think a lot of people just don't have space for something this large. Not a great test of waters for a DX Grendizer. Though, I suspect Grendizer is far more popular than Gaiking. Who knows...

These kind of price drop usually benefit folks that are on the fence or just didn't go for the release, as it is too important to others that really want a large size Daikumaryu release (that just come once in a lifetime) to risk not getting it at a fair release price. But I am in this hobby long enough to not get too tied up about price difference. I still try to get good deals whenever I can. But I won't lose my sleep if I over paid $50 or $100 once in a while when I can't see the future. Add COVID to the mix and $100+ shipping is not uncommon.
On a happier note, my Add-on Option Set is ready to be shipped!

This has been selling for this rate for awhile now especially in secondary Japan markets. I seen some of them 40,000 yen range. But yeah shipping is still high. I’m not sure why I even look it’s not like have space for this.

Daiku-Maryu is too long and wide to work with most standard display setups.

I just couldn't wait, life's too short. And for crying out loud, it's Daiku Maryu Gaiking, my all time favorite super robot anime.

Daiku-Maryu is too long and wide to work with most standard display setups. Agreed on Grendizer's popularity, but at least Daiku is flexible. The the neck and tail can be bent, and the legs adjusted for a good fit. Worked for me with a 55 cm x 36 cm shelf. Daiku is 75cm long. I was briefly tempted to buy this. It's 66 cm long, shorter than Daiku but without Daiku's flexibility. There's no way I can fit this monster in any of my display cabinets. So it's an easy pass for me. www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/151816

The GX-100X is so fun. It definitely completes the GX-100 and ratchets up the whole experience. Set up Daiku-Maryu on the flight-stands with Miracle Drills, Big Cutter, and Vogue Eye deployed. It's terrifying and adds another foot or more of length to the presentation.
!TIP: The first time you install Gaiking's horns on any of the heads, note that the pegs/holes for left and right are slightly different sizes. The larger peg will fit in the smaller hole and could stretch it, making the smaller/correct peg fit a little loose.

My GX-100X is on its way. Hurrah! But I still can't believe I've spent over $1,000 on a single SOC! As I mentioned on my previous posts, I wish I was able to retire from collecting SOC's after getting a GX-100. I've reached a milestone! This whole insane spending experience should have knocked some sense into me
