Interesting... I wonder if this is an actual project or just some old sketch. They have already announced a shin getter in the MB line....

Yeah, weird that Bandai has been flip-flopping with these future releases, as if they can't make up their mind on already announced stuff. This sure is not the same as the design for MB Shin Getter 1, yet I don't see them releasing both back to back. Like what happened to Getter Emperor, then GX-100, and now this, looks like there was some internal shuffling going on.

Emperor was announced back when the crossover line was alive and well, such as the poster Mechagodzilla 2 which was Monsterart X SOC. By the time of release Bandai weren't doing that anymore so it was rebranded as a regular SOC.

Depending on price, I might just have to replace my src. Don't get me wrong, the src is fantastic, he's just a tiny bit too small. Soul of chogokin is really the only line I trust to do a better job without going to full astronomical prices

Which is what most of us speculated based on MB Shin Getter 1's announcement late last year on Tamashii Nation showcase. Just that the recent SOC GX-100 book with the Shin 1 blueprint got us second guessed. Though that one was supposed to base on Shin's appearance in Getter Arc, while MB is its own take. There is still a chance Bandai will be making one of each, but obviously that chance is very slim, and not sure if the market really need two either. But no SOC Shin 1 means less likely we'll even see Shin Getter 2 and 3...ever.

Ryujinmaru is SD because thats how the mech looks like in the anime. Has nothing to do with the toyline being SD.

Nothing released in the Metal Build line has been SD.

this is exactly why i asked because Rryujinmaru is an SD robot and the line is called Dragon Scale so i thought maybe the line will be for SD robots, in the Metal Robot line they did the fabulous Knight Gundam, which is originally an SD robot, but they made it a real type
i hope you guys are right and Bandai could give a good Shin Getter 1, as you know early products from any of their lines are jaw dropping, or those robots that doesn't fit the line, i feel there is something extra about them

Don't worry. Shin Getter 1 is not going to be SD. Whether you dig their sculpt or not, that's another story.

If an SOC doesn't come out in favor of this dragon scale, I am severely disappointed. There are 5 or 6 stylized shin getters on the market in the past few years, and the only anime/manga accurate SOC scale shin getters are model kits and the old aoshima. I don't buy stylized mecha. I want screen accurate.

Like many I want to see a cartoon acurate Shin Getter (or a manga one too). But the metal build at least looks like it will have some great proportions to be fair. It will funny if at the end of the day we're having a war between Soc, MB and CCS toys.

Bandai is not stupid, they know once they release a SOC Shin Getter, it’s over. That’s why they are releasing all these plastic kits, SD and Metal Build first. They know that once fans get their holly grail, there’s no point in buying inferior toys. Many companies do this, they release the alternate color first and then the acurate color. Like they did with the Masterpiece Starscream when it initially came out in green before it was repainted into the cartoon colors

I would have been excited about this 4 or 5 years ago. Now that we have the Riobot and recently the Threezero, I don't know if I "need" this. I'll prob still end up buying it though SMH.
