I prefer the 70s JJ. But I really enjoyed SP, and JJ is a very good character. I didnt preordered the Godzilla Ultima, but I may get this one. It a very unique figure.

I am almost done watching S.P., at the 2nd last episode. Unfortunately, the show was not as good as I hoped for. It has all the right elements, budget, style, and quality animation. Even the premise is quite interesting. Action was cool, monsters were well designed....but I couldn't get pass the nerdy dialogue. Not because it was dumb or badly written, but just way way too much nerd talk and fake scientific nonsense to make it appear very smart and deep. In every 20min episode you have about 10 mins of nerd talk that is very hard to follow/boring, before you get to any good stuff, if there is some. Kind of similar symptoms in Shin Godzilla, but that one has the over long political office meetings, with this one replaced by nerdy phone text chats, computer monologues, and scientific conversations between scientists (who you don't care too much about). People normally dislike movies or shows with too much exposition dialogue, but at least they get some understanding of what is going on out of it. The nerd talk in this show though, you can't even get that, just more confusion and new scientific terms thrown at you and keep on piling. So the experience always become a mix bag of awesomeness and boredom in each episode. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if they cut down a lot of the nerd talk (and I am actually a pretty patient viewer), streamline the science and theories it has, and make it just focus on the characters and events. I can't even remember a single name of the main casts...the dialogue is that distracting.
Jet Jaguar though, is always the highlight of the show. I like this a lot more than the "guy in a suit" look from the 70s. Though the S.P. Jet Jaguar can't quite go toe to toe with the main monsters, due to its small size. But I have been wanting a good figure of it, even before watching the show.

Finished watching season 1 a couple days ago, and yeah, the last couple episodes didn't change my impression on it. The nerd talk still goes strong and filled most of the time in these 2 episodes, with a few minutes of action and excitement in-between. Plot gets pretty convoluted at the end to stage a couple plot twists, with some defying common sense and physics. And the super AI that the female protagonist happened to downloaded it from the internet happens to be able to do anything by voice command, including hacking super computers, enter 4th dimensional space and time solving mysteries and figuring out ways to save the world when none others can, while being cute as a mascot on screen chit chatting with the protagonist while doing all that. Amazing!
With the same crew and talent, this could have been a really good show if the script and episodes structure is reworked. While I do believe a 2nd viewing would help understand the fake science behind it a bit better, I can't bring myself to sit through all those long nerdy conversations for 13 episodes all over again. Its a shame really. So much potential in here, yet the execution made it not very entertaining the majority of the show.

S.P. was good. I would like to get into the Monsterarts line but I wish they would do more of the classic Godzilla monsters like Gigan , Megalon , King Caesar, Classic Jet Jaguar and more.

Here's my review of Jet Jaguar from SH MonsterArts. A little too light but we get what we can get.
