since there is alot of threads and it getting out of hands to participate in all of them i thought it will be convenient to have one thread where we talk about about everything in general
for me personally i didn't like most of the stuff they showed but i was eyeing three figures
Shin Getter 1
Daitetsujin 17
King Exkaiser
after watching the video im not sure that i should get them, i mean Shin Getter 1 look so BORING a bigger SRC thats it, Daitetsujin 17 wont hold a candle next to the Action Toys version, King Exkaiser i dont even know the robot so im not sure if i really want it
the only figure that made me scratch my head and asking my self did i made a mistake by skipping it ? was the GX100, it looks BAD A$$ but in the same time im not a huge fan of Gaiking so im still not sure
with that said, one thing is for sure, the SOC line is still alive and kicking, and i really hope they consider making some from our wish list
the video for the event

Yeah, i def liked the last event better with tons of different Getters heehee.
As for this event, i hope Bandai would release Gaiking separately. He looks good with updated paint and face sculpt.

Tons of cool stuff. SRW30 Huckebein 30th, Metal Robot Damashii RGZ Custom, Metal Build Hi-Nu, MB Eva 00, MB Sirbine, SOC GFG, GX-100X Set, HMR Tomahawk, Robot Damashii (a bunch of stuff), classic Kamen Rider Shinkokuchou and new Battlehopper...just to name some of my potential buys. So yeah, you get the picture. ...the only figure that made me scratch my head and asking my self did i made a mistake by skipping it ? was the GX100, it looks BAD A$$... Indeed. It would be your biggest regret in your collection, a void you won't be able to forgive yourself, if you don't act on it soon enough. This is it, man... I think this pretty much is the ultimate dream "secret home base" playset for adults. Has all the gimmicks and components, hero combiner, little diecast vehicles, interiors, different display forms, loads of weapons, new forms for Gaiking, pretty much all there is to want in a complete package (after you bought the option set of course), in high end diecast glory. Much more so than previous DXs, which are more or less just scaled up SOC with light & sound. I wouldn't pass on it if I were you.

I like how Bandai is focusing on Braves characters. Though it’s more of modern anime,This little change from Mazingers and Getter releases. I’ll be buying most of the Braves releases. I would like to have to seen some DX Grendizer teaser photos.
However, I’m curious now on what other companies have in store for us in 2022 though. Pose+ is making me happy by releasing obscure old school anime mecha.

for me i have mix feelings about it, on one hand im sad that NONE of my wish list robots made it to the list, and on the other hand im happy that i will save ton of money lol

i really agree with you but i already went over my budget for 2021 so i think i might get the reissue IF they release it again, if not then im sure i can live without it since im not a big fan of Gaiking even tho im sure as a toy its jaw dropping and have ton of playabilty

The Braves are in desperate need of an update especially now that there are 1-2 in every new super robot wars. Robots from the 90s and 00s have been ignored for years in the SOC line. And I'm happy bandai is doing side mecha again instead of popping out the main bot and abandoning the series. While I'm disappointed there's no news of getter Kirik and Kahn I much prefer this to the glut of repaints and updated rereleased we have gotten for the past few years

I think the event shows lots of new upcoming cool stuff and many unexpected releases. Bandai is broadening their horizons with new franchises. I guess many people is just looking at SOC releases but they announced a lot of things, many MB, GFFMC, robot damashii, and metal robot...I'm not into many of the new stuff but I'm happy to see them going that way since I expect stuff from more franchises... Mechas I'm into: Jonnhy Ridden High mobility zaku II gffmc Matsunaga High mobility zaku II gffmc Crossbone Gundam X0 full cloth MB Gundam strike noir MB Hi nu Gundam MB Daitetsujin 17 soc Daitetsujin 18 soc Eva Mark 06 robot damashii (to add to my old soc evas collection). Also deathscythe gffmc is cool, but since I want the last units, I've learned to wait (I guess in the mid term they will release deathscythe hell so I'd rather wait) The gaogaigar stuff looks cool but I don't know the franchise and my wallet says we should not meet Shin getter looks cool. I really dig it, and probably have gotten the soc if it was available when I bought the riobot (pretty sure it will be cheaper and it is more screen accurate). However I love my riobot, is a great figure and not over stylized, so he will be keeping his spot in my collection. Also I'm into Saint seiya stuff, and they made many cool announcements so I'm really happy with this TN. My wallet is not...

I think I enough things that interest me were revealed. Not every figure has to cater to my taste. In fact, with how expensive this year was I'd prefer that for the near future. i really agree with you but i already went over my budget for 2021 so i think i might get the reissue IF they release it again, if not then im sure i can live without it since im not a big fan of Gaiking even tho im sure as a toy its jaw dropping and have ton of playabilty
Since this isn't a DX SOC I wouldn't be surprised that if it sells well they'll reissue it. If it performs like the SOC Titanus then it might not get a reissue for a very long time, but that also means that it'll be easy to find for a good while, and at prices much better than what they're asking for now.

Imagine the price hike of a GX-100 reissue 4-5 years down the road.

I was really into gx100 but it is out of my price range... I'd rather get 4 or 5 different figures with that money. This hobby is becoming more and more expensive and keeping up with all the new releases it is becoming harder. I want to close some lines and get some stuff I need to backtrack (iron Z soc, boss borot soc and black wing soc for example). But maybe if there is a reissue and I'm not buying that many stuff I'll get it.

GX-100 is like $1000.00 purchase with shipping and if you want those extra accessories. Not counting any other fees others have to pay. I think I’ll hold off on that purchase after thinking about it.
The 5Pro Voltron is coming up I’m gonna put money aside for that. I reserved two in case one falls through.
I would like to see Bandai make some super Sentai old school combiners in the future.

No new Dougram combat armors, no DX tv SDF-1, no DC Getter Dragon, no GX-36R Ideon with upgraded joints and a base that plays the opening and closing themes (Kiko eru ka kiko eru darou haruka na, todoroki!...). An utter disaster!
...Is what I could say, but I didn't expect any of that.
Yeah, I'm happy with the reveals. New hope for the Macross destroids, continuation of the Dunbine lines... And I really dig the directions the SOC line is moving in. Mind you, I probably won't be buying much of this stuff, but that's cause I already have most of the robots I need. I still like window shopping and reading reviews.

I was happy with the results from the show, no I don't care for every single release or prototype shown but I'm also not arrogant enough to expect a multi-billion dollar company to cater to my whims and desires.

The biggest announcement for me is the Macross VF-25 Worldwide. Not because of the toy, but because it means Macross is starting to get global distribution following the agreement between Big West and Harmony Gold. It will save a lot of headache for the Macross fandom and no more staying up until middle of the night to preorder SMH. I loved most of the announcements. King Exkaiser and more Brave series SOC is a good direction for Bandai. Macross Hi-Metal R getting more life. Lots of very cool high end Gundam stuff in Metal Build and GFFMC lines. And Robot Spirits. I just PO'd the Huckebein 30th (I was pissed about the very limited Huckbein 30 that only came packaged with the game and was so hard to find and I couldn't get it.) Metal build Code Geass and Dunbine stuff is interesting and I'm glad to see these animes getting some love. I know most of you guys are only into the stuff you've watched as kids, but there is quite a lot of newer propoerties worth checking out. For me, the joy of watching anime and re-watching old classic anime never went away, and really reminds me why I love these robots in my collection. I'm talking about you S_Gokin you really should make time for shows like Dougram, Patlabor, and some Gundam. Might reinvigorate your passion for figures aside from Grendizer and Zanda Cross (they're never going to make a high end of Zanda. Sorry my dude. )

none of us said Bandai MUST do what we want or else they are stupid period

actually bro thats not a rule for me, i collect in this way
robots i watched when i was a kid
robots i had their toys when i was a kid
robots i liked their designs so i end up getting them then watched the show
robots i like their play value but not interested in the show at all
to be honest with you im not that deep into real robots shows, since they focus on the story more than the a$$ kicking, but that didn't stop from getting some figures from those shows
actually i have a long list of robots but thankfully other companies jumped in and did them, my most wanted right now is Bismarck
its true that i need the DX Grendizer and im sure they will do it, i have a little hope for Zanda Cross to be in one of the Gundam lines MB to be exact, but if they didnt do it its not the end, also i will keep annoying them about it lol
as for the Brave series, if they did Fire Dagown that would be a win for me

Chen, I share your way of thinking. I'm not into many of the things they showed but it's really nice to see bandai taking on new franchises or franchises that seemed forgotten. Also, I share s_gokin criteria for choosing what to buy. I watched some modern mecha anime but there are not many high end toys from those (except gundam), for example I'd like to have a sleipnir from aldnoah zero, villkis from cross ange or a strelitzia from darling in the franxx (hated the end of the anime but loved the mecha designs).

Thanks for the link mpchi but that's more than I would like to pay for a MRS size figure.

High end Strelitzia, take my money!! Also, not related to Tamashii, but I am SUPER happy that Good Smile is giving us a Hagane Works Mecha Eli-chan from Fate Grand Order since she's one of my favorite characters in that game. Lately my only regular Bandai line has been Metal Build, so I'm pretty happy with this year's announcments. Eva 00 turned out to be so much better looking than I ever thought possible, so I've got that ordered. Hi Nu and Gurren SEITEN are dream come trues, so I will be very happy when those come up for pre order (though that Hi Nu struggle is going to be real). Providence Gundam and Sirbine are some really great surprises that I can't wait to get too. Crossbone X-0 Full Cloth and X-1 Skull Heart are very cool, but I'm on the fence a bit with those, also I was really hoping for a look at the MB Shin Getter, but I guess they wanted the SOC version to have the spotlight right now.
