I know which day it is, but it seems it's no joke. HLJ and other stores already have opened preorders for it.
Considering how off-model Gurren Lagann looks on this, I think they missed an opportunity to make it a REAL fully combining one that would feature Gurren and Lagann as separate figures. I mean, it looks like it can already pull off a half-decent Gurren with these collapsable legs, they could have pushed it a bit further and include a little Lagann.
I have the CCStoys GL, and I'm keeping it as the GL in my collection but new releases are very tempting. First the combining riobot, and now this. I love what they did, this gattai is so GL, and I love the Gurren brigade designs. If they sold the Gurren brigade separate I would probably get them. The combination is just great, I found it to be really creative and just fun. This would be a great and unique toy and really envy the guys that will get it.
Wouldn't hurt to use some diecast. 24cm combined figure with zero diecast is just...meh. I agree with krimpov that GSC missed the opportunity to allow a separate Gurren and Lagann combination. But- this might be because of the Riobot. We know GSC and Sentinel have collab before on things like Nendoroid Transformers, Hagane Works Mazinkaiser, etc., so maybe there was an agreement not to overlap gimmicks. Just my guess.
