Batteries in Chogokins master list

Hi gang, I thought I’d create a master list for folks who are curious about which modern Chogokin toys that feature electronics come with batteries pre-installed. This list will also serve as a reference guide to the battery type and count needed for each figure.

Do note that all batteries need to be removed during long term storage or displays to prevent battery leakage, which can and will damage the metal pins in the compartment.


Please feel free to comment in the thread in case I missed anything. I’ll try to update the 1st post when I can.




DX SOUL OF CHOGOKIN:
DX Mazinger - requires 7x AAA batteries. Not included.

DX Great Mazinger – requires 7x AAA batteries. Not included.

DX Combattler – Comes with 2 pieces of LR41 batteries, 2x AA. All included, packed separately. NOT pre-installed.

DX Voltes V – Comes with 3x LR41, 7x LR44, 2x AA. All included, packed separately. NOT pre-installed.






SOUL OF CHOGOKIN:
Gx-24 Tetsujin 28 - HAS 3x LR1154f batteries. Comes PRE-INSTALLED. Same goes for Gx-24M (metallic), R (2021 version), as well as the Lucky Draw DVD edition. All come with batteries PRE-INSTALLED. Only the N (Naked, Tamashii Expo 2009 version) does not come with any batteries or electronic gimmicks.

Gx-29R Black Ox – HAS 2x LR44 batteries. Comes PRE-INSTALLED. Same goes for Gx-29 original version.

Gx-33R Leopaldon – requires 2x AAA batteries for the Spider Bracelet/ Morpher replica. NOT included. Original Gx-33 does not have electronics. Only the R version.

Gx-36 Space Runaway Ideon – HAS button batteries for its Ideon Gun. It’s been a while since I opened mine and I honestly can’t remember what type of button batt it ran on, but the batteries Come PRE-INSTALLED. Please let me know what batteries this runs on if you find out.

Gx-57 (Classic) Space Battleship Yamato - requires 4x AAA batteries. Not included.

Gx-58 Super Battleship Andromeda - requires 4x AAA batteries. Not included.

Gx-64 Space Battleship Yamato 2199 – requires 4x AAA batteries. Not included.

Gx-67 Captain Harlock (Green) Arcadia – requires 4x AAA batteries. Not included.

Gx-77 Gipsy Danger - Comes with 7x LR41 batteries (3 for its chest, 2 each per Plasma Caster), packed separately. NOT pre-installed.

GX-80 Secret of Blue Water Nautilus N - HAS batteries included. 3x AAs for the stand and 3x LR44s for the ship (batteries for the ship are already PRE-INSTALLED).

Gx-86 Space Battleship Yamato 2202 – Comes with 5x AAA batteries (3 for the ship, 2 for the remote), packed separately. NOT pre-installed.

Gx-89 Garmillas Warship – requires 2x AAA batteries. NOT included.

Gx-93 Captain Harlock (Blue) Arcadia – Comes with 5x AAA batteries (3 for the ship, 2 for the remote), packed separately. NOT pre-installed.

Gx-100 Gaiking & Daiku Maryu – HAS 3x LR44 batteries. Comes PRE-INSTALLED in the Daiku’s right thigh.

Gx-101 Daitetsujin 17 – HAS 3x LR41 batteries in the Graviton Unit. Comes PRE-INSTALLED.


Gx-103 Kiryu/ Mechagodzilla – HAS batteries in the head and in the chest sections. Comes PRE-INSTALLED. (LR41 x5, two in the head, 3 in the chest)


SOUL OF POPYNICA
BPX-01 Classic Space Battleship Yamato - requires 2x AAA batteries, NOT included.

PX-01X Mazinger Z head for the Mazinger Pileder - requires 2x AA batteries, NOT included.






AOSHIMA SHIN SEIKI GOKIN
SGM-01 Captain Harlock Arcadia - requires 2x AAA batteries, NOT included.



AOSHIMA AA GOKIN:
Getter One - requires 2 button batteries. Pre-installed?
Black Getter - requires 2 button batteries. Pre-installed?






Voltron Figures:
-Toynami Masterpiece 30th Anniversary Edition Voltron – HAS 2x LR41 batteries for Voltron’s head. Batteries are PRE-INSTALLED. Electronic base operates on 3x AAA batteries, batteries for the base are NOT included. Other variations of the Toynami Masterpiece Voltron do not have electronics. I don't think the Ultimate EX Voltron from Toynami has electronics? I never got the figure so please correct me if I'm wrong.


-Titan Power King of Beast Third Party unlicensed Voltron – HAS batteries PRE-INSTALLED in EACH LION, removal is very, very complicated and risky, possible paint chipping involved. I personally decided to leave it installed forever.

-Icarus Toys United Gokin (Licensed?) UG-00 Voltron – requires 2x LR1130 / AG10 Batteries for Black Lion’s Bazooka LEDs, batteries NOT included. Same goes for the black version redeco of this Voltron figure.

-Blitzway Carbotix Voltron - HAS batteries PRE-INSTALLED for Black, Blue and Yellow Lions. For Green and Red Lions, the batteries are NOT installed but are included.

-Dream EX Diecast Series F-01 Goraion/ Toynami Altimites diecast SD Voltron – requires 2x LR44 batteries for the eyes, not included.








Cm’s Corp Brave Gokin
07 Patlabor – Comes with battery included, but not pre-installed. I forgot what type it was exactly, I think 1x CR2032 type?


Sentinel
Riobot Kizin Genesic Gaogaigar – Comes with 2x LR41 Batteries included but NOT pre-installed.



Artstorm Pose+
Goshogun – requires 3x LR26 for eyes and Go Flasher. Not included.




BU Toys
UG01 Getter Arc – requires 2x AG3 batteries for lighting up eyes and chest. Batteries not included.











CCS Toys
Shin Getter Robo - (please let me know about this one, I never got one)

CCS Toys Mazinger Zero - HAS batteries PRE-INSTALLED.








FUTURE ARTSTORM ES GOKIN – All figures listed here have LED gimmicks for their eyes (not all ES Gokins come with light up eyes, like Raideen for example) . Button batteries required but I don’t think they’re included (as per Wikipedia listings).

SP-01 Getter Team 3-pack - Limited event repack of Getters 1-3 with minor changes to paint deco. Same as with the original single releases, Getter 1 has light up eyes, Getter 2 has working spinning drill electronics. Batteries required but not included.











Dx metal append zenkaioh juragaon - HAS batteries PRE-INSTALLED.









Bandai Chogokin
Drossel - HAS 2x LR41 batteries. Comes PRE-INSTALLED in its head.

Charming Drossel - requires 2x AAA batteries for its base's electronics, not included.

My CCS Mazinger Zero’s preinstalled batteries were removed by my seller ShowZ before shipping….so it’s TECHNICALLY preinstalled so buyer might want to check.

A couple of others that come to mind, looking over my shelf:

- The Bandai SoC GX-77 Gipsy Danger comes with a total of seven button batteries in a separate tray, I believe- two for each plasma caster and three for the torso. I don't know the battery type offhand, but I can open mine up if needed. Since they're in their own tray, they're less of a leakage concern.

- The Bandai BPX-01 Space Battleship Yamato uses two AAA batteries, not included.

- The Bandai PX-01X Soul of Popynica Mazinger head uses (I think) two AA batteries. No idea if those are included.

- The Aoshima SGM-01 Captain Harlock Arcadia uses two AAA batteries, not included. (I forgot this one earlier, and unfortunately I'd left the batteries in when I last shelved it. It took a good bit of work to clean out but thankfully everything is still functional.)

EDIT: I just checked the Wikipedia listings and it says there are no batteries included with ES Gokins. I never got the Getters, so I can't say for certain on my end. Are you sure they came with batteries pre-installed?

Gold, I checked the manuals, and see that ES Gokins don't come with batteries. Sorry about that! 
Corrections:
ES Tetsujin-28 - batteries sold separately per manual
Getter 3-pack Repaint: batteries for Getter 2  and Getter 2 are sold separately per manual 

My AA Gokins came with batteries installed, but I may not have been the first owner. The manual is geared more towards replacement than installation. It says "screwdriver sold separately" in reference to opening the battery panel, but it doesn't "batteries sold separately" anywhere that I see.

One thing to remember is that batteries are designed to leak if the temperature exceeds it's design that's why batteries or toys with batteries in it should be stored in cool dry places. I know that's hard in some places in the world though, also remember if it takes batteries there is most likely a PCB board in it which most likely has LED's, resistors, diodes, capacitors etc. which may also corrode at solder points or leads.
