but that is not bandai standards! the gx70 DC mazinger did have metal thighs and forearms. why not this? they have done it before with the GX 45 shin mazinger which was 80% metal and very articulate. Possible reason #1: Less diecast = moar profit
what are you two are talking about
this is good amount of diecast, dont forget this figure is supposed to be better articulated than the GX70 DC that figure was more about the look in the first place, this one is a mix between looks and articulation
the diecast amount in this figure is more than what some stupid companies offers in the figures

Yeah. I'm not convinced the articulation is the prime reason for the lackluster amount of zinc in this thing. Looks like it's the least metal in any SOC Maz aside from GX-49.

valid point, but GetterBoi explained why they didnt use diecast in the thighs
i would like to add the GX45 is like 13 years old, im sure they found new better way to make the figure last even more
this is Bandai we are talking about + this is a Mazinger z figure they wont miss with that or sell it half baked

I know if you look at diecast content for the reissues of Garada and Doublas they still have diecast thighs. For those older designs they cannot rollback on the diecast content or people will complain. The no diecast thighs seems to be a new norm, not just for Bandai, but 3P Transformers, Sentinel, CCS, POSE+, pretty sure they all try to avoid painted diecast contact to painted diecast due to the known chipping risk. Unlike the old days with Aoshima, Fewture EX Gokin, or SOC they would put it everywhere, but articulation was not as big a emphasis back then.

Doood. It just dawned on me, Bandai can pretty much do a 50th Anniversary release of all the major SOCs from here onwards! Great Mazinger and Getter in 2024, Getter G in 2025, Combattler V in 2026, Votes V, Zambot 3, Danguard Ace in 2027, Daimos in 2028....Ooof~! You guys are in trouble, thinking Mazinger Z is the only one.

This one looks really good, mazinger is the spoiled mecha of the SOC line. About the anniversaries, I want a new grendizer set... I have the old trilogy, GX01 40th anniversary, GX02 TN2016, and GX04S. I love the GX04S set, but I have troubles with grendizer being so short next to the other two, I think GX76 solves that, but shipping a 3 parts set to my country was really expensive. I was hoping a GX76S to happens, but it never came, 50th anniversary may be the chance...

50th anniversary better be the DX for Bandai and Japan safety
