POSE+ GGG (It just does a lot more than the best SOC combiners has to offer, with the poseability and ratchets all over, and a lot more stylish, dynamic, and complexity on top of all that)
POSE+ Baikanfu as a runner up. (Just compare it to SOC Baikanfu and SOC Gordian, and look at how POSE+ engineered the combination to have that level of poseability)
I love SOCs, and they are great. But they are no longer the 'best', driving the industry standard with engineering innovations.

That I own. I'd say SOC voltron. Also, getter go SOC is pretty awesome since it can pull an almost perfect transformation (not much gokin in there though...)

notice how i didnt mention GX13R or GX40R Gx13 is almost 20 years... it was a great figure, but it is dated for today standards, Sentinel has already surpassed it by a lot (I still love my gx13r and it is the only dancouga i my collection). Gx40 is not that old but it is old too...

true, but im talking about the R version they had a chance to fix some of the issues or at least update the joints but nope they gave us an extra head and called it the day thats my main issue
im totally aware 20 years ago the techniques and technology wasn't as strong as today, so im fine with the normal GX13
as for Sentinel i dont think its accurate, its very skinny and the overall proportion are not that good (personal opinion) i think the Hagane Works will be the best Dancouga ever made, on papers in got everything rights
on the other hand both of the GX40 and the GX40R were born outdated lol not to mention those awful QC on the R

I still think GX-40 is pretty good and aged decently well. The way they managed to hide the arms and head of all the limb robots are pretty neat (especially if you know how it worked in the vintage one).
For SOC combiners in general, I feel like their engineering innovation peaked at GX-68 (so happen is also a GGG). Very faithful complex combination, but well executed with no parts swap, no cheap tricks, just honest feel good steps exactly like the anime, and comes with working segmented tank tracks (no rubber 'tape' that prone to cracking), articulated fingers, and tons of add-ons if you have the cash. It also has great articulation and ratchets in most major joints. Golion and Dairugger XV are also excellent. But they both excelled only in execution, on an otherwise very simple straight forward combination. Getter Emperor & Go are neat little experiments, but they both are too complex for their own good, and kind of marked the decline on SOC combiners (both quality and quantity), especially when followed up by a bunch of 'very safe' later releases that pose little challenge to the design team. When compared to a combining GGG, a Mazinger Z "ver. whatever" becomes a piece of cake.
I wonder when we'll see another truly impressive SOC combiner again from Bandai, instead of just eating dust following other newer companies that took the challenge and excelled.

POSE plus should tackle Voltes V, Combattler V or Dairugger.
