Sentinel - Choukou Senshi CHANGERION

Guys, if you collect SHF tokusatsu figures, you have to get this. Just opened this last night, and I was blown away by it. While being one of the more obscure franchise (I never watched any episodes of the show), Sentinel poured a lot of effort into recreating this Changerion with technique and paint job combination rarely seen in action figures, especially in SHF size. Combining iridescent colors, metallic paint, and multi layers of sculpted translucent parts all over the body, it created a stunning effect on the armor with a lot of depth and details everlapping. The sculpt and proportion is also very accurate, pretty much on par with the SHF Shinkocchou line, but with even more premium feel, material, and sturdiness. Good tight joints all around feeling very solid, though due to the armor design, with some pieces wrap around a upper arm and hip that wiggle slightly, as if a person wearing an actual armor piece. It originally priced at 19800yen (quite overpriced) during release a few months ago, but is currently on big discount on Amiami & Nin-Nin at about US$100. This is one of the very best humanoid figure Sentinel has ever made, and it sure is very unique looking. Scales exactly like a SHF Shinkocchou Rider/Ultraman, so it will blend in with your SHF collection perfectly.

Do yourself a favor and get this guy. The figure is just as beautiful as these photos, and a top tier tokusatsu figure in SHF scale (beating many best SHF offerings actually when you see and handle it in person).

A pic with the SHF gang. Photo didn't capture the iridescent layering effect that well due to not ideal early morning lighting. Looks really good in bright daylight, or under strong sunlight. Strong iridescent paint on helmet and chest, circular chest plate, and less strong on the shoulders due to darker clear plastic, which fades to black towards the bottom. Then purple tinted clear parts over metallic paint on arms, hips, and legs. To my surprise, the elbows and knee caps that I thought was just solid black plastic with metallic paint looking at night, turned out to be also translucent under stronger light during the day. Red jewel on his forehead is so well done, I can't tell if it was painted or a solid clear red plastic stuck on the head (but no seams or tabs behind). With so many clear parts, you can't find any unsightly tabs underneath. Everything is well hidden, which really shows how much thought was put into this guy during design phase. Definitely one of Sentinel's best work!
