I just picked up this figure. Under $80.00 on Amazon right now, and quite a nice action figure for the price. For gokin collectors, this one is very light on die-cast. Only a portion of the dark abdominal section, the ankles, and the hip joints are die-cast, as far as I can "feel". First impression will be, the figure is small and feels light in hand. Standing just about 15cm and weighing under 100g. In terms of articulation, Sentinel excels as usual. The neck, torso, hips, and ankles extend to give more range of movement. With all joints fully extended, Tekkaman Blade is about 17cm. I really like the Riobot sculpt here, the more rounded gives a more organic and natural look compared to other releases of the character. It also has good proportions, the head not too small, which is often a problem with his figures. The painted details, various yellow and grey accents, are all clean and crisp. I'd say the figure is about 1/12 scale, since the protagonist wasn't very tall in the anime. The RIOBOT could fit in with other anime figures such as figma or SHF. For $80 it's a really good deal and fun figure to play with. I'm not sure whether the 2022 release has improved on the original release in any way. If Sentinel added some diecast to the feet and heels, it would have given the figure even better stability and balance in poses. Looking forward to Threezero's ROBO-DOU for that larger size and heft.

I had some interest in the Innovation Point version for the size and diecast, but the head just looked so tiny and under-sized, like a pinhead. It's an exo-suit atop a human body, and so the proportions were just too far off here.

Excellent video with comparison. For gokin lovers, Threezero might be the way to go. Good proportions, and decent heft. Double the price of RIOBOT (on sale).

Overall, I like the Riobot sculpt the best, where they made the best design choices and shapes on areas that the figures are evenly matched. It does have some downside on being small, so some parts are not as detailed as the bigger offerings, and doesn't have much weight and diecast. I can see bigger fans of Tekkaman Blade want a higher end product and go for the more expensive options. But the discounted Riobots just hit the right spot for me, luring me to make the purchase on something I would have passed otherwise at their original price, while keeping human sized figures more or less in scale with the SHFs and Figmas I have.

I saw Evil's price, but I'm trying to be patient and see if it'll drop under $80 as well. I'm in no rush so fingers crossed.

Might as well pull trigger now, $10-12 is nothing in this day and age, when shipping alone can hit $100 pretty easy. And I believe Evil has a higher MSRP than Blade, as it is slightly bigger with more parts and big backpack. Grab one, join the party! I found another video comparison, even included Figma and the Chinese Model Kit, with a little history of the show and various toy releases. This guy's videos are pretty good and well edited (though you need to understand Chinese/Mandarin), and funny that he often pull the toy boxes out his freaking T-shirt. He did a Getter one that was also very good and entertaining, showcase tons of Getter figures, from vintage tin toys to modern gokins.

I ended up buying Tekkaman Evil after all. Sure Thing Toys (based in NJ) has a sale right now, 15% off on 3+ in-stock items with code SPRING15 which brings the price to $80.75 before tax. Shipping is free. I added some cheap Gundam gashapon stuff to qualify 3 items. It's a really good deal for this 1/12 figure. Highly detailed and good sculpt as usual per Sentinel. Very sharp and prickly though, handle with care. Those toe spikes are like needles.
STT also has Tekkaman Blade in stock, $66.78 with code.

That is a really good deal. Too bad already pulled the trigger at Amazon, which the prices were already pretty great.
