Seriously, this looks much better than expected. I imagine he is going to be a fairly complex transforming figure, I hope King Arts QC and engineering will be up to par for this guy. Been waiting for ages for a good transforming version of this guy.

Very disappointed. ToysTV got their hands on a pre-production sample. A lot of things doesn't look right. The face looks really off (should look like a more detailed GaoGaiGar mouth, instead we get a mouth with a piece of white tape over it), the colors are off, and a lot of the joints have little to no sculpted detail or design, just barebone function that looks like from a 20 year old toy (look at those armpit joints, as well as the knees and ankles in the video, has zero aesthetic design). The Psychic Wave hand also look very flat with not much gesture on the fingers posing, looks like someone just waving 'bye' instead of an action pose....sigh. How can they miss all these?!!  Need a lot of parts swap too, but that was expected. The head has zero transformation (just swap out), so no excuse to sculpt it so bad. Overall joints are not tight either, even Doug from ToysTV mentioned all the joints overall a bit loose, though it is not a production ready copy. There is a chance it will get tuned more, but no guarantee. Sadly, this was my 'must buy' item this year, now being downgraded to 'just wait for reviews'.  Time stamped at 51min 33sec, where it starts. |

Yeah, pretty much any of your listed companies will do better than this. Such a shame. The promo pic looks quite good (because the lighting hid all the flaws). I was taken aback when I saw the photos of the ACGHK display, but thinking it must be the very bad lighting making it look bad. But I started to worry. And now this video preview pretty much confirm all the bad stuff, and revealed even more than I wanted to see... Oh well. |

Really enjoy these guys' TCM Toys Channel and have been watching them almost since they started, but I am not a big fan of this particular video. It is great that they focus on the anime show info (which is very informative, and it is what they usually do). But when it comes to the figure, they didn't really look at it very objectively this time, just gloss over what they like about it, but didn't point out a single issue (this thing has plenty) and the 2 hosts gave it a 9 and a 8.5 respectively. Feels more like a commercial than a figure review for once, to be honest. |

Dangaioh is the first subbed mecha show I ever saw so a high quality figure (and a transforming one!!) would have been great.
I've seen the one posed with great lightning popping up a lot on facebook mecha groups like this one:
It looks great but then they posted a video and the figure looks very flat:
I think this will probably be a pass for me at that price point.

Yeah, super disappointed. Might consider if it goes on heavy discount, just for display. But Dangaioh is not a character I want to end up buying as a subpar product only because it was dirt cheap. I would even pay $400-500 for a well designed and executed figure, easy. Quite sad about it, honestly.
