Hey fellas, I'm not much for photo stories because i have the imagination of two rocks arm-wrestling but i took some shots of my toys and put them on my site. There's only one shot of my henshins, and there are a couple absent in the shot (they got a two day pass, even though they knew it was photo-day). enjoy! www.kobotindustries.com/toys/

Bryan - it takes imagination to come up with a great expression like "two rocks armwrestling"! What are those crazy smooth gorillas? And where do you get all thsoe cool african masks? Are there any stories behind any of them? That last photo is a guy called (I think) Melifas - they have a really cool medicom version. Thanks for the photos!

The smooth gorillas are called 'king ken' and they're by a guy named james jarvis. The smoothness you speak of is actually velvetty flock! The african masks, are actually hawaiian tiki's of the 60's kitsch variety. Think brady bunch vs vincent price.... The last guy's an ultraman bad guy called baltan... there's a two foot tall one that shows up on ebay now and then, but i always get outbid. CBC, maybe i DO live next to you, have you ever thought of that?!?! b

Those gorillas are KING KEN art vinyls by James Jarvis. I've been dying for the Black Flocked KK for a bit. Very Cool, bryan!!!
-how do you like the MARS OBSERVER figure? it sure looks cool. -who's the little yellow guy in the 4th photo, between Hidorah(? pink guy) and orange monster? -what's up with the THE LOVED ONE cassette towards the bottom? it looks homemade and cool from here.

hahah i love these questions!!! Maybe i should have hidden more little cool items in the shots! The King Ken is completely worth it; everyone should own one. I love the Observer figure but i love Mars-1's original one a bit more. I'm a big fan of his, i have a couple of his prints as well. The little yellow guy is a gachamech from Gargamel. I got him in a lucky bag with a few other toys. The other ones i've seen are transparent, with the inside ball being glow in the dark. I wish i had one of these, but the toy is still pretty fun. The Loved One tape is actually a real tape from a local band called the Loved One circa 1992. WARNING: useless trivia to follow. I actually found this tape while i was moving. They were a real interesting band, really influenced lyrically by old horror, etc and musically, a mix of husker du and del shannon. Their live show included 15 foot tall easter island heads made of plywood as well as a cello player who never played without wearing a wrestling mask. Lore had it that he was absolutely afraid of playing in front of people and that's the only way he could deal. A few of the members of the band were in a band previously with the best name ever: the cadillac of worms (an off-kilter allusion to wkrp in cincinatti). The Loved One moved to Vancouver to try and make it big, the singer got hooked on heroin, then found god when he opened what he thought was their empty fridge to find there was bread in it. Miracle or not, he became a pastor or something. Considering he would sing to goat skulls on stage, etc, this was a 180 to say the least. Like i said, it's completely trivial, and likely means nothing other than it being a really weird band. Maybe someone will google the band one day and find this... so ask me any question about the background of the pics, and i am sure i have a story that will entertain

Awesome! Totally dig the urban vinyls, and especially the clear red Hedorah!

Lovely pictures, Bryan. Two rocks arm wrestling would make a great photostory. If there wasn't a foot of freshly dumped snow on the ground, i'd go find two cast members and shoot the script I storyboarded....

Most impressive! Loved your choice in urban vinyls. Nice variety of items. Good to see you have already started going polynesian at this stage in the game.
All you need is some nice Hindu stuff. A giant 2 foot Garuda sculpture would be a nice addition!
Cheers, Guy
