yea they are trying to steal some of Takeda Shingen thunder they will get cut for sure lol Samurai themed robots have existed far before Moshow's Takeda Shingen, besides this isn't even trying to be the same thing. Other than the difference is size (and being based on an established IP), it's more of a what if concept. Instead of the mechanical armor we know them to wear, what if the creature inside the Evas was wearing traditional samurai armor. You can see how it's using cloth, leather, and old fashioned iron plates. And fun fact, this was originally showed by Sentinel a long time ago, as part of a collaboration with the artist behind Afro Samurai. I thought it was canceled. www.gokin.it/2019/06/15/mostre-e-eventi-sentinel-10th-anniversary-exhibition-riobot-eva-01-samurai-battle-type/

i know i had couple of Musha Gundam's way back
my point is what is the most popular Samurai themed figure for +4 years ? its Moshow Takeda, 4 batches, 3 repaints (thats i know about) and still going strong, even if there is some older Samurai themed figures, Takeda is the most popular hands down
so naturally some will try to take some of its market share, also Moshow is based on a real historical figure not fiction
at the end people like different stuff, for me this is an easy pass

Well if you want to get technical the most popular samurai figure of the last four years has been figuarts Tanjiro from Demon Slayer. Nothing else can compare. If anything inspired companies to make Samurai figures in recent times it's that anime. There's even a line of highly successful samurai themed Transformers figures that came out before Takeda by a couple of years, maybe that inspired it as well. And Moshow's Takeda has as much to do with it's namesake as Saber from Fate does with King Arthur. And don't forget that one of Takeda's recolor was an extremely limited convention exclusive that you can't even find for sale, while the other was a crowdfunded piece that took some time to sell out. Jokes aside, I highly doubt the success of Moshow's Takeda had anything to do with this release. It's been in development before Takeda even came out, aesthetic is completely different, is in a different size group, is aiming at people who either like Eva or people who want a spin on a traditional non-mecha looking samurai figure. Samurai have always been a very popular aesthetic, and there's countless examples of it throughout the past few decades.

Yeah check bandai star wars Samurai figures, Batman Ninja movie... its not that moshow invented something New... About the figure, I don't like it being more Samurai than Eva, but it is something different. I can see People making photos with it regular human characters and mechas fighting against it...

bro we are talking about robots not humanoid figures
the crowdfund version was super tricky to find it was two batches the first one sold out imminently and if you are lucky to find one the im sure you wont like the price
the black version was an events exclusive and i got an offer for them but i didnt like the price as well lol
its the same shin getter 1 case after CCS every single company want to do one

bro dont twist my words like you know who
i didnt say that moshow invited the Samurai, all what im saying is they took a concept and ran with it
i dont recall any (robot) samurai figure that got 4 batches, multiple repaints and still selling out, not to mention there is a new smaller version thats also getting thumbs up from every single reviewer i watched

Well, we are also talking about Samurai, and Demon Slayer is the Samurai property now. Besides, EVAs always stood on the edge of being robots, and this version completely abandons any sense of being a robot in favor of looking like a uncannily proportioned creature trapped inside traditional samurai armor. It's not trying to look like a robot, and I think they pull it off very well. And until last the last month or two the crowdfund version was still available at Bombusbee and Showz/Gundamit for around $200, two of the biggest Asian sellers. We also don't know how many units are produced per run, and if production numbers are influenced only by preorder numbers. It's a hit, but saying it somehow changed the landscape of the robot toy market seems farfetched. Besides, I already mentioned Iron Factory's Iron Samurai line which came years before and their figures are still selling out to this day. You also had the multiple versions of Dygenguar by multiple companies who all sold well, and while not as popular the Ialdabaoth from the same franchise still has some fame. Power Ranger's Thunder Megazord is iconic, as well as the other popular Sentai mechas. Heck, the very foundation of the RX-78 Gundam was inspired by Samurai armor. Even Voltes V carries that in its aesthetic, though it's not as pronounced as the other examples I mentioned, and for a more obscure example there's Goshogun (it's even in the name), which I happened to be glancing at just now in my display cabinet. And regarding Shin Getter, well it's Shin Getter, one of the most popular super robots of all time. There's always some Getter being developed by some company. The CCS version was already preceded by the Threezero version by a year and the Riobot a few years before, and while Bandai's Metal Build version came out a few months later was already in development before CCS announced theirs. Blitzway came later, but also Blitzway timed theirs with the 50th anniversary of the franchise.

yes also God Mazinger, but none of those (as far as i know) got back to back reissues or repaints
the same point you are saying is multiplied by 10 with Takeda, they are going to release a tiny version of it and guess what that sold out as well, according to some sources Moshow will do a another batch soon

its like you are saying electric cars are equal to gas powered cars lol
bro you are totally lost, like im not even sure if you are in the same solar system lol
how can you compare an anime a well received one to figure that is based on a historical character that got no anime, no marketing, no a huge audience all it got is just a manga you can find online ?
but fine lets compare them even tho the comparison is not fair at all, how many times the Demon Slayer Tanjiro's got reissues / repaints ?
Eva is not super robot not even a robot its a cyborg end of the story, you can dress her the way you like but it wont change that fact
actually no the crowdfund version sold out in mid April (trust me i know), regarding the production numbers no one knows for sure, but Ive following Moshow and i see them in events selling dozens not to mention sometimes they show actual shipments the number is decent im not saying millions but its good, if the sales are poor how come they are doing reissues and repaints ? and thats not just for Takeda only also Date
again you are not getting what im saying, its doesn't matter how came first its all about who is doing better and selling better, also are you sure you are wearing a glasses ? last time i checked none of the Saburo Yatsude robots resemble a samurai
to keep it simple, my point is, Takeda took the Samurai theme to the next level other companies are trying to mimic what Moshow are doing
