I appreciate the new take, though it's also a small figure eith seemingly no die cast metal.

Looks great and perfect transformation is always a big yes! The small size and being such an alternative release put it out of my radar. Too many releases incoming... I'd rather keep up with the lines I'm collecting.

This is very similar to an idea I had years ago. I had the idea of having Getter 1 be a samurai in full armor, Getter 2 be a ninja and Getter 3 be a sumo type robot. It’s cool to see the Oni approach, Getter Robo is actually the bad guy after all

Upon closer look, its an interesting take. And the fact that they are doing a lot of shading on the paintjob helps quite a bit. Just that samurai Getter is not quite my cup of tea. But I see some good effort put into the design of these, and each Get Machine has their own Oni face is quite interesting.

ngl looks very well engineered although the gut is pretty wide. But I don't really get these samurai themed interpretations (like riobot eva) that have zero connection to the lore. One for the japanese market I guess?

I just realized that this is actually made by the same company that makes those unlicensed Samurai themed Transformers, though in this case they actually got the license to make an official Getter Robo toy. ngl looks very well engineered although the gut is pretty wide. But I don't really get these samurai themed interpretations (like riobot eva) that have zero connection to the lore. One for the japanese market I guess? Many interpretations of Getter 1 have it be a bit of a wide chonky boy so I don't mind it, though in this case it's built more like a Olympic weight lifter.

I bounced off the design of this originally, but I have to say that it's grown on me every time I take another look at the photos. I think I'm going to put it a preorder.

This feels like this figure was made for me, as it seems inspired by New Getter Robo (my favorite Getter OVA). The samurai and oni motif, yep, definitely inspired by New Getter.
