If you love every figure in gurren lagann then yeah this would be cool... Im wondering if that front is full on diecast that needs the support...

The main point of diecast in it will absolutely have to be those huge feet. And the internals around the hips and waist. The front boat hull would have to be hollow plastic if it was any hope of standing on its own. Talk about an awkward piece to display on your shelf.

The main body having a diecast frame/diecast parts will also help shift the weight to the back, because as you said the ship hull is just too big, and even if hollow will have a lot of weight to it. There's a good chance that support stand Wil be mandatory even on the final figure.
