A Top Japanese Secret Base Cyborg Collector sold everything! And the kicker? HE LISTED IT VERY POORLY! This is a pretty amazing sight. In Japan, when a collector cashes in his chips, he often totally washes his hands of the entire toyline. Not only did this collector cash in his dolls & suits, but he listed the auction without any fanfare. When selling all your cyborgs, it is probably a good Idea to a) not sell it in ONE LOT. b) Probably use the word CYBORG in the listing. The auction was not listed under Cyborg, Toxic Phantom, or even Secret base. It was listed simply as "TWIMBALZAC" page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/87218813 page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r22256151 page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m27179166The seller sold off a FULL SET of every modern Plant monster variation and every suit was sold on a Cyborg or WALDER! FYI: SOme of that stuff you just can't get! Oh The Humanity! Now add it all up in your head – the loss is scary. LOWEST PRICES EVER!!! Wouldn't you like that for Xmas? Somewhere out there is a newbie cyborg collector who has just managed to almost complete his collection before he has even started. AMAZING! - Guy

Wow - you'd figure a guy who buys all that crazy hard to find stiff and has 199 feedback surely knows how to list stuff on yahoo japan! Maybe he did it on purpose or something! Otherwise he's probably feeling like a real schlameel by now.

Ah, now I get it - his wife, who has no idea what any of this stuff is, found his password, and is selling it all behind his back while he's away somewhere without internet access! Either that or it's his x-girlfriend taking her revenge!

Stranger things have happened. A good friend of mine who is a big time collector and "toy expert" wrote a rather famous photo toy guide and recently had an extended stay in the hospital. Granted things DID appear rather grim, but he recovered. He still has bad days occasionally.
My Friend and his wife shared an ebay account for 'occasional' toy sales. She helped him from time to time sell items when he was not feeling well. Guess when his health took a turn for the worst, it turned into an out of control toy clearance sale. I mean it did not look good for him and he "Wrote the book" so to speak on an 8" tall toyline from the 1970's. The Bills still gotta get paid.
It became an adult version of the "I WENT TO SUMMER CAMP and returned to find my toys GONE!" scenario.
During his extended hospital stay, his wife 1) LIQUIDATED his collection on ebay using their joint account. 2) Passed down his toy website to another toy collector (who incorporated it into his own website) and 3) SOLD the ebay account to a friend whose business could use the massive feedback!
I am not using details, because this is still pretty fresh and there were clearly many issues I don't know the full details on. I only know HIS side of the story. And the story left me shaking my head when he told me about it. Just put yourself in his place. What would your spouses & relatives do with your collection? I do believe all his credit cards are now finally paid up and the finances are nice and sound. Guess ya have to look on the bright side. Shouldn't a fella be happy about all that in the end.

Yeah, i've seen it go down a few times with record collections, you know, Gramps was a serious Jazz-head and he's sick, see ya later high-priced, out-of-print vinyl! Also, when i worked at a music store, a lot of amazing hard-to-find guitars, amps, drums, basses, keyboards, etc. often turn into credit card payments, or, god forbid, hard drugs. very sad.
at the same time though, i'm SURE somebody's got a beloved HC collection now!
