I'm curious - does anybody recognize what this nasty little gnomish face is from? I posted something about this months ago, but there's more people buzzing around these days, so I thought I'd try the mystery approach like Guy with the glow invader. If you know it from my old post, no spoiling the fun. Some might think it's obvious, but I never noticed until it was pointed out to me. WHodis? profile

Actually, I don't think you were the guy who pointed it out - it was my friend CJ, but maybe you'd also noticed it, and talked about it on the forum all those aeons ago. By the way, I think I mentioned this to you before, but your band is awesome. Do you have any more mp3s or is there anywhere I can download some more?

Johnny, Great Post! If fans are talking, then this is something we all can learn from. That is what this whole forum is all about. My only guess is that the face is to a character so obvious that I can’t see it. You know it has to be exceedingly rare or impossibly obscure to grab my attention. The little head in the middle always reminded me a little of the tiny head on Zeiram. Not sure what angle you are going with on this one as far as identifying the head. To me, I can only state that it looks just like the prototype art – the KWII brain sketch. Whereas the original looked like a shrimp, the KWII brain I thought that the whole thing looked like a ½ Chicken , ½ broccoli alien myself. I have a little pile of them accumulating in the lap of one of my walders. Once again your photos are quite brilliant in detail. Showing something My near sighted eyes really could not have picked up on their own. At such a great magnification, Looking at your photo, it looks almost like that wolfie bat beast from Bram Stoker's Dracula. (A movie which I painfully try to forget) Are you thinking US or Japanese character, or precisely what Angle are you looking at? Possibly a TAKARA character that I am just not catching? Unfortunately I know nothing of Modern Microman and it doesn’t remind me of the 12” walders original series, the invaders, any of the inner brains, the Diaclone Walder monsters, the acroyear amazons or their monster buddies. I have Only 1970’s and 1990’s Cyborg to draw a reference comparison. So as far as that goes, I got nothing. Any hints?

THe pics are black and white - I didn't want to totally give it away. So Guy was right - sort of - though he got ahead of himself and made it more complicated than it is! It's not a prototype, or from a sketch or anything rare or exotic. It's just the plain old KWII inner brain heads (though I guess those are rare and exotic if you're not a cyborg collector!). I had never noticed that there was this evil gremlin face on the front of them. I was always too busy admiring the big painted eyes, and sea cucumber dreadlocks...
One day my friend came over and was wondering what the hell these weird guys were and right away he saw the little gnome face, which I'd ignored for about two years of playing with these things, and photographincg them taking them apart, etc!
I'm curious about the rest of you: did you always notice these little faces, or has anyone had a similar experience? Am I just blind?

i chased around for one of these guys for about 5 years, watching ebay, going to small comic stores across the country, etc. I didn't have a clue about yahoojapan for all that time then finally i came upon this fine site and found someone post the search link for henshins on yahoo. I found one on there, got a friend in japan to buy it for me.
I think i noticed the little face almost immediately during my blissful 'let's stare at the toy you search for for so long' phase.
It's damn amazing!
