Are there any valuable Micromen to collect? I'd not familiar with this line, but saw some nice Rei Ayanami ones in Japan. Also, the Assassin line.

Are microman the same size as G1 joes? If your talking about those smaller 3 3/4 inch GI Joes....yes, pretty close to it, but I think the Microman figs may be a little smaller. And no, I'm not talking about Microman's actual "figs", I don't think he has any...just a small power bulge. ;D I was brought up in the good old days when GI Joe was a full 12 Incher ....ah, those were the days. ;D

Also, the Assassin line. vintage, of course, there's a decent demand. the 90's-2000's re-issues are pretty cheap to get nowadays, but that won't last long. of the 2000's series, i'd say the store exclusives, and the AVP Scar and Warrior Alien figures. haven't picked up any in a little while, none of the new ones really jumped out at me.

Are there any valuable Micromen to collect? Of the new Microman figures, the only really rare ones are the four lucky draw figures, which were limited to something like 100 each. They are the Stealth Biom, Chromed Military Force Acroyear, Energon Edition Kicker, and the Tokyo Walker Material Force. Some of the designer collaborations, can also be tough to find. Those being the two Death Blaze figures, the Neighborhood Dark Army figure, and (to a lesser extent) the two Devilock figures. The Quanto exclusives are probable the next hardest to get. Jin and Xiang-Ni can go for especially crazy prices (especially Xiang-Ni), but can occasonally be found for not much more than retail. Still not cheap to begin with because of the atttached mooks. The convention exclusives (Commander Survive and Micro Trainer) are also probably up there with the harder to find Quanto exclusives, but all can be found with some patience. Some of the TRU exclusives can be a little hard to find. Material force figures seem to be going for a lot lately. As mentioned in another post, the only seemingly hard to find regular release is the Scar Predator. I'd add Polymer from the Tatsunoko fight line as well (and maybe Tekkaman, Volter and Casshan). The rest of the non-exclusive figures can almost all be found fairly easily from online retailers or ebay, at or near retail prices. Strangely, the TDP exclusives all seem as easy to get as the normal releases. Almost forgot about the TakaraHobby.com Microman. It's probably up there with the Death Blaze figures. Some of the hardest things to get would be the Wonderfest garage kits, like the Amazon Squad heads. Anyone have a set to spare?

I miss the Palisades MM figs, like Time Traveler and the Acroyears. zozo-Magengar my friend, now is the time to get them if you want them. little to no chance these get made again. maybe 10+ years from now. prices are slowly creeping up as the years pass. in the days before the interweb, it took me YEARS to get my vintage micronaut collection into nice displayable shape. I didnt even know what the guys names were for the most part, just thought they were cool. I can't tell you how many common vintage & 90s star wars figures loose & MIB i traded to get them all. I sold it all i guess 1998? 1999? I've tried to get some nice minty vintage guys again, but no luck- way too much $$ now. Personally, the Palisades reissues don't do much for me (im usually a "reissue guy" too) when it comes to Micronauts, i don't know why. I'll break down a door for a reissue Henshin Cyborg though. Maybe the reissues are dirty or broken enough for me. i sweat those clear Baron & Commander sets though

Looks like Microman being dead rumors may have been premature...BBTS just e-mailed about 9 new figure sets...more Kinnikuman, Votoms red shoulder set, and some new stuff

From what I can gather, the rumours are that "proper" Microman lines - as in the silver heads, clear bodies, etc, have been put on hold, with Takara-Tomy concentrating instead on licensed lines like Votoms, Wecker, etc...

it looks like these new figures might be it - the licensed stuff like the Kinnikuman stuff, nobody in the US really ordered those, and i know many of the US retailers got burned on Microman from 2003-now. I know when the Tomy merger happened in 2006 there was a lot of buzz about phasing out Microman by 2007-2008. not surprised by this at all with bad QC and uninteresting designs lately. Weckers look nice, but i've got to pass on these- never seen or heard of the source material. now, if they did some Star Wars characters in Anime style, some 1979 Alien figures, more Godzilla figures, Magno reissues- you could sign me up for those. and i know many would kill for some Battle Beast reissues too. i'd kill for the Dog Bark Translator to be reissued again.

I know when the Tomy merger happened in 2006 there was a lot of buzz about phasing out Microman by 2007-2008. I'm a little confused by what you're saying here. The licensed stuff seems to be the only stuff that will/may keep going. That both the licensed and core Microman lines don't sell well in the US seems fairly irrelevant. The licensed stuff sells better (relatively) than the core line in Japan, so that is what is still being made/might continue to be made. But whatever the reasons, I'm just bummed that the line is petering out. I've really liked the later releases. Acroyear Xado had some of my favorite designs with Muzan and Hidou. The version 2 Microladies were elegant and beautiful. The Wecker stuff(even the designs from the show itself, apparently) that you're saying looks nice is based on parts from some of these later releases. And I think the QC issues were getting better. Probably too little, too late, though. Yeah, there is so much potential left in the line. Too bad the Godzilla stuff was a bomb in Japan. There are so many more monsters that could have been made. I'd love a KigiruMicroman Mechagodzilla. Tomy already has a/the Star Wars license in Japan. And with Takara's close relationship with Hasbro, what's keeping them from making the best 1/18 scale Star Wars figures ever, based on the Microman body?

But whatever the reasons, I'm just bummed that the line is petering out. sorry if i worded it a little odd- just meant that many US retailers ordered heavy on *regular* microman until 2005-2006 (Diamond Comics Distro had many many discount offers on the line over the past few years), and ordered very little of the *licensed* characters (they were a higher price) I've really liked the later releases. Acroyear Xado had some of my favorite designs with Muzan and Hidou. The version 2 Microladies were elegant and beautiful.
