Hello,
I was hoping to get some information on a carded Time Traveler, I recently purchased. I am aware of GiGi and it's relation with the Magno figures, but not so much other figures. The Time Traveler I have is red opaque, and is clearly on an Italian card. It is marked both "GiGi" and "Mego 1978". Any information on this piece is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dan

Thanks, Dan Hi Dan, The solid colored Time Travelers came out at the tail end of the US Micronauts line, and all of them are considered pretty rare, especially MOC. There were 4 colors: red, yellow, light green, and light blue. MEGO was in its final death throws at the time, so very few of them made it to the stores in MEGO packaging. But the Italian counterpart to MEGO, GIG, was still doing all right, and they kept the Micronauts line going over there for several more years. So the very last MEGO releases, such as Ampzilla, Centaurus, and those opaque Time Travelers (TT's) were part of a thriving toy line in Italy, and were widely available there. The GiG line even had quite a few Micronauts that were never available in the US at all, like the magnos you mentioned (Red Falcon beng the biggest one that come to mind). Anyway, your red TT in the Italian package is definitely rare and desirable. It might not fetch as much interest as, say, a carded Lobros, but it's actually just about as rare. The MEGO versions of both are much rarer though. Hope this helps. - Tom V.
