I am curious if any folks on the board have this item, and what kind of reviews its got. It seems to be VERY expensive now on e-bay.
I was able to find a seller at a reasonable price (or semi-reasonable), and pulled the trigger. Am I going to be happy with this purchase?
Bill
P.S.: If anyone else is interested, the vendor still has the item listed for $299.00 if you are looking for one. On e-bay they are going for nearly $500.00.

Well, let's just say that it's a MUST HAVE piece for Starblazers Argo fans, the market price was 19800 yen when it first came out Bandai did two or three re-release, don't remember it, and was on eBay for 200 to 240 USD in late 99 early 2000.
The design was approved by Leiji Matsumoto himself. About 13 inch long and 4.72 inch in height. The only part that's metal is the space anchor otherwise it''s a ABS plastic completed model.
Feature includes:
Seven different digital sounds and three light-up actions, including super gun ("hado-ho") firing (bow lights), main deck guns firing, small deck guns firing, main engines revving up, main engine ignition (stern lights), red alert (bridge lights), and fighter scramble (requires two AAA batteries). Small switches on the right side of the ship trigger the action.
Lots details, panels can be open to reveal inner details, including the bow super gun, main engines, upper hangar, lower hangar (two hatches), main radar and third bridge.
The main guns pivot in unison via a hidden dial, and the gun barrels can all be elevated individually. Small deck guns also pivot simultaneously with hidden dial. Wings pop out via hidden switch release. Main smokestack missiles raise and lower. Engine turbine can be spun with hidden lever. Super gun ignition bolt slides into place.
Also includes five fighters (two Cosmo Tigers and, two Cosmo Tiger II, and one Cosmo Zero) can be mounted on stern catapults or stored in hangars, plus a large-scale model kit of the "Cosmo Cleaner D" you can put that little guy on the display stand.

Probably one of the best Argo out there and in scale wise (Not include the 1/350 scale wooden model kit made by Imai).
Personally, I think it's much better than the one made by Popy (12" and 8" DX version). Very accurate in proportions and excellent craftsmanship. Even it's not made of die-cast, so what. It's truly a masterpiece.

well ... from the images that I 've seen so far of it .... I agree with evry single point you said changegetter!! .. I regret the fact that I didn't buy it early .... I am a big fan of the yamato ... but with a big hole in my pocket right now .. when I haded the chance before to get it ... I prefered to get the gx04S grendizer and gx03 original release (not the restock) .. now I am paying badly for this choice ... but I can't blam my love for grendizer!!

Thanks chogokinabdul LoLz, who can blam the passion for Grendizer No one can if you are Grendizer fan hehe... I think bbechtold (Check the first post message on top of this page) mentioned that one of the local seller near by his place is selling it for $299, if you still wants it, you might wanna give it a try. It might be the cheapest you can find.

Guys,
I got exacly one zillion e-mails asking where I got my BPX-01 for $299. I got it through an Amazon Z Seller named Animetron.
Now for the bad news. Animetron seems to be sold out now. Hopefully one of you got one after my purchase on Monday.
Sorry I can't help more. When I head into SF this weekend I'll see if any of the shops have any in stock as well.
