I managed to score my own Soft Garage T-28, control box and all, at Anime Expo. This little guy is much too cool. Unfortunately, it's kind of cooled my enthusiasm for getting another T-28. I wouldn't worry too much about the stand. My guess is that he'll balance just fine on his own.
