All right gang- I can see a conflict brewing here. Some of the brethren seem to think that funky old Dan (kittykat)Couga is the Ultimate SOC. Others are of the enlightened opinion that the exquisitely engineered, and beautifully crafted Zambot is the superior Robo. Now since I am one who is totally without bias in this matter, (oh yeah )I have taken it upon myself to suggest we settle this thing like true geeks: PIXELS AT TEN PACES! Stage a photo battle between Dan & Zam in any mode. Show beyond all doubt which bot, or team truly rules. Use this thread to post the results. JWM

No digicam, nowhere to host pics... could link to pics but Zanbot would be at a large disadvantage until Tim Brisko gets his. ; ) Well, what the heck, here's a nice crappy picture to keep it more fair. www2.odn.ne.jp/~yagi-gallery/nikki035.htmIt's about halfway down. Just to show how majestic Dancougar can look in a simple standing pose thanks to the leg articulation. Here are some upper body pics of the 2 robots from a good site I check sometimes. tamabase.3.pro.tok2.com/danc15.JPG tamabase.3.pro.tok2.com/zambo20.JPGI like them about equally in these 2 pics. Zanbot could have the edge if only it had nicely painted yellow parts IMO- the gold chrome ones that come with the zanbo ace could make the difference, but the plastic still looks good here. Dancougar has the beautiful cockpit. I like them about the same in these pics, but these only show the upper body. In the end I think that the deciding factor for these is the original design of the robot itself, not the quality of the toys, unless you liked the designs equally in the first place which would be quite unusual. IMO the Dancougar toy does Dancougar more justice than the Zanbot toy does Zanbot though. Zanbot is a design that really needs articulation.. it fights like a ninja after all.

We are now playing with the concept art, the future is here. Looks like Bandai did a great job representing Zambot.

We are now playing with the concept art, the future is here. Looks like Bandai did a great job representing Zambot. Same reason I bought the SOC Dancougar because the SOC design was just leaps and bounds above the old Godaikin toy from the 80's. I would take pics but I'm just too lazy right now so I'll just go ahead and say it, err type it... I used to be the biggest proponent for Dancougar, but with its current floppy hands problem on big moth {on mine, they pop off rather easily when I pull on them while transforming moth to robot mode}, I've pretty much lost all interest in handling the toy. The most interesting gimmick of transforming the most massive part of the toy to tank mode, to bot mode, to beastial mode, or to Dancougar's gattai form has now been rendered useless. My Dan is now mainly a display piece and knowing that the flaw is there, everytime I am tempted to play with Dan, I hesitate and it saddens me that the best looking toy in my collection is as fragile as that god forsaken MMM Turn A Gundam. I would take Zanbot's lack of articulation over Dan's fragility anytime because at least I can still play with Zanbot whenever I feel like it. I think about picking up another Dancougar but then I ask myself what's the point in spending all the mula if the same flaw is still there.

There was a thread just a bit ago about fixing the floppy hand thing, did you try what it said?
I had the hands come off on mine once but they stayed firm when I put them back in. (what bugs me personally is how easy it is to scratch the big moth's toes when posing the hands) This problem might be the same sort of thing as people saying Poseidon has a terrible waist joint. I could pick up my Poseidon by the upper body all day without it separating.
(Please forgive me if the problem really is nothing like that.)

Yeah, I've tried everything I could think of short of super gluing the damned hands to the rubber caps. Which is why I am so disappointed with this toy because of all the great things it had going for it, Bandai could've spent more time with better designs of the hands and even the neck piece.

Re-read my post on the fists. I had the same problem-EXACTLY. This fixed it (or made it less of an issue.) I don't "play" with it though (just pose it), so maybe it would still be an issue...no clue.

Your simple fix of pushing it in until it pops? Yeah, that worked in the beginning but if you play with Dancougar enough times, eventually the rubber cap will get loose/ weaker over time. I've even tried making the ball joint thicker by putting layers of clear coat nail polish but the flaw is with the crappy rubber cap...
