Dude, just go to HLJ if you really want a gold one. They have it at 50% off and the expensive EMS shipping will probaly still make the total price at less than $75 USD.

Here's the link: www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?BAN916121I stand corrected, at 40% off... still pretty decent. I understand this repaint just isn't doing too well due to the mismatched gold paint on the plastic and the metal (which seems to be the case in all the SOC toys that got the metal chrome treatment) which is why its selling for so cheap at most places.

DOH!!! I misread the title of the thread. But still, IIRC and from my understanding, the the 2004 EXPO 01-RG is basically the same toy as the other RG's, its just that Bandai wanted to stir up what little demand they can get to get rid of floating stock. I believe there was even a Golden week RG version released back in 2003 then the regular RGs followed. What I'm trying to say is the collector value for this particular toy doesn't really fluctuate no matter which version you get because there simply isn't any demand for the toy due to the mismatched paint issue.

I hear ya. It's more of the box if you really think about it. Being that the toy and contents are the same, the only difference that justifies the price is the Box. Crazy, no?

I'm just your basic run of the mill toy collector and I really could careless about the different box versions if I can get the same exact toy for much cheaper.
I guess I know what you're saying though; the Expo toy and the golden week one could probably[/b] do well on eBay in the future for the next gen collectors.
Though the safer bet for fetching higher prices in the future would be the SOC guccis or the Expo GX-13R Dancougar which had a different paint scheme and different packaging, making them somewhat a rarer version of their regular versions. See gx-01RB... However this is not the case for any of the gold mazs and it could get confusing for those who do not know any better since the regular gold maz already is a repaint of the GX-01R.

I'm not trying to c.block eric808 on a sale, but you just have to ask yourself if the Expo box is worth the extra 20.00-30.00 bucks.

I have both versions too. But I wanted to know what value will reach it. I'll sell the other and keep expo 2004
