Not sure where I read this but I was wondering if any of you guys know? Or was it that they ran short in the first initial run and made more...?

Re-issue, Re-designed, Re-release, Re-stock, Re-produced.... All these Rs are really starting to annoy me! Here's how I see it... Remember that Dan was initially released in early 2003. It had a few more production runs later that year (I wanna say May and then June of 03)... then nothing for 6-7 months. Dan went for jacked up prices on the bay and many online stores because everyone wanted one and people worried that there wasn't going to be another run. The demand eventually leveled off towards the end of 2003 but the old stock Dans were still going for high prices, around 26000 yen and above. That is until 2004 when online stores started asking for preorders again for a March-April 04 re-stock (some stores called it a re-issue) of Dan. Preorder prices went for around 20000 yen-23000 yen (though not as low as the 16000 yen MSRP that it originally went for in early 2003), the Dan's selling price went way down because of a whole new production run. A re-issue of sorts ala Combattler, Daikumaryu, Eva-01, and 02 only with a lot shorter time interval between its runs. whoo! [/wiping sweat off of forehead] Or was he just re-released, re-produced?... MAYBE!!!! ;D Forgive me for the rant and for maybe not making any sense.

Haha! Hey GDomino! Thanks for the 411! Basically, my primary concern is if there are any differences in the actual figure in design/color/packaging as in Com-V, Boss Borot and GX-14. The 2 latter ones would probably have different copyright dates on the boxes like Com-V but I'm not sure of the color. It probably would be slightly different if it were to follow COM-V as it is always hard to reproduce the same EXACT color as the original. For me, if they are all within a year or so of being released then I consider them production runs. In the case of Com-V, "Bossu" and GX-14, I would call them re-issues. Finally, in the case of the "R"'s, I would definitely call them more of a RE-DESIGN/RENEWAL/REAL COLOR, etc. as they have been purposely made different than the original release whether it be re-designed and re-sculpted or recolored differently as in GX-13R. Whew! I think that works out pretty well. LOL! Thanks again for the insight bro! I appreciate your 2 cents! Your fellow RJ robofan, Carlo

So is there a GX-13 and GX-13R? By the looks of the pics that sci70716 provided in his comparison I would say so. I like the the one with the more metalic looking face myself. Which is that?

GX-13 has the shinier look, while GX-13R is flater with a more Anime correct colour scheme.

Does anyone prefer the 13R's differences? I personally like the original one better. Comments?
