I heard that Zambot didn't sell to Bandai's expectations, so this might be the last Gattai robot for some time. So it's bad news for you Voltes fans, but on the other hand Bandai might get around to making a larger size Gaiking and maybe even a Jeeg figure. I believe that the problem with Zambot was the high price tag combined with a elatively unknown robot outside Japan. SO, only hardcore collectors such as we would be willing to spend 200 dolars (with shipping) on such a piece. I do not have one yet, but I am trying to accomodate him.

Bandai's only mistake was the high pricetag.
Z3 was a risk. Low diecast content, minimal articulation, minimial gimmicks, high pricetag, it was asking for bad sales.
My 2 cents, but I think his being an unknown outside Japan isn't really the main factor, since (at least the last time I read), Bandai's main market is still Japan. If Z3 made a good selling in Japan, at least a 3rd of what Bandai expected, then it's all good.

After all, we, the chogo-addicts are a small comunity when compared toother toy collecting groups around the globe. I wonder if that is not actually good for us?

yes. zambot being unknow is not the reason for it not selling. Big Dan was kind of unknow but it did pretty good right? i personaly like gx 23 a lot. it look so good nice to Gx 03. i love combiner super robots. i just wish bandia will make more combin mech robots. the price tag of $200 is not really a big issue to me.. i rather spend $200 on a combine mech super robot than $60 to $70 on half hearted design. i GGGG looks good but (i have it) but spending $185 for a combiner that could not transformer sucksssss. the more i look at GGGG the more i want to put it on ebay.

Heya all, well, I never expected to own a Z3...but my dear friend came back from Japan recently and surprised me with one as a gift! (yes im a lucky ba$t*rd :-D )
I wasn't going to open the box up, but I did. I wish I hadn't as I found that whoever packaged zambot mini in the factory had pushed his head too far in the styrofoam, and subsequently bent his back PVC fin! ARRRGH!.. I have managed to get it straight now..but what a pain!
Anyway, I also agree that there are some moulding issues either with the holes on the side of the knees or with the red 4-spiked saucer thingys that attached to the side of the knees.
They are def. moulded to the WRONG SIZE and DOES CHIP PAINT IN THE RED HOLES. I couldnt believe this in the first place...
Well, other than these two small nicks..and comparing to the rest of the marvelous gatai engineering, its a small price to pay (pardon the pun).
Out.

I hope they end up doing Danguard Ace still... but a Bigger Gaiking would be awesome! ( i still need to get the other one.. I'm still recouping from Getter robo G and Optimus.. oh boy was that a big whole in my pocket!)

I'm still recouping from Getter robo G and Optimus.. oh boy was that a big whole in my pocket!) Danguard Ace would be a cinch for Bandai. Afterall, it's ony two pieces, with a very simple gattai. I will be hoping it see's light soon. I just got my GX-03B Black Combattler V from Kipling, and I have to say I am hooked on Gattai. Now I am actually contemplating on getting a Dancougar **shudder** just to complete them.....

sorry for the late reply guys..
ok, the piece on Zambot Ace is basically pvc plastic, it is soft and can be bent to shape if left for a very long time. If you just re-bend it to a straight shape, without any external support, it will eventually go back to the bent shape.
Sp what I did... was got some padded twisting wire (the kind thats used in most carded packaged toys these days) and "wrapped" the fin back into shape, concentrating around the tip of the fin. The good thing about a twisted wire is it can really hold the shape in place. But make sure you use the padded kind!
You will have to leave it for at least a month though. Obviously tthe longer you leave it, the better chance the "right shape" will stay in place
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

I wonder how many people have ever even seen the Clover Zambot3. Your pictures are the closest I've ever come. How about a side-by-side comparison like Josh B did with the Combattler? Pleeeeeeze. JWM
