-Just a heads up... I received the Zanbot GX-23 and was VERY impressed. Eventually I will do a review on the blasted 2 pound metal machine (said with love). In a nut shell-- smooth, well engineered, and heavy. Here is a review I just completed....Hope you like it: www.robotjapan.com/Pages4/Zambot-soc.htmEd

I think it's a cool toy. Easy to combine, looks like it can kick a$$... but I don't like: 1) the limited articulation of the legs (I guess this is a limitation when SOCs reach a certain size) 2) the Zambot Buster, the saucers that are supposed to attached to the legs of Zambot don't fit well. One "saucer" is too tight (and even chips slightly) and the other is too loose. Thinking that I put them on the wrong legs, I swapped legs and still got the same problems. I guess not every toy is perfect. It still looks great though.

Z3 kicks major boo-tay! ;D Can't wait for the review Ed!

I got to take a look at one, and he's WAY heavier than I thought he'd be. Unfortunately, he's also WAY out of my current price range. *cries*

I'm gonna disagree with you all here - I didnt like the toy at all. I found it too plasticky, and the plastic used felt cheap.
I thought the chest section was poorly done, and i thought bandai cheaped out on some things, like solid molded treads instead of rubber ones.
For the price, I don't think it was a good value. It is one of those toys that you transform once, then stick on a shelf.
But thats my opinion....

Josh B: Which chest section do you mean? The wing shaped shields, or the torso/ Zambull tank module. Just curious. JWM

For my money, I'd buy the Max Factory GaoGaiGar before getting Zambot. I own both, and find GGG more impressive.

JWM,
In the combined robot mode, under the yellow chest V, theres a big hole... It just looks sloppy to me.
Just my preference.

Not at all. I agree on that feature. Any company that can build something as precise as the PG Zeta model could have made that section to fit cleaner than it does. And, except for the neck, I really don't have a beef with Zooey, either. They're both awesome toys. Heck, they don't even fight on the shelf. JWM

I heard that Zambot didn't sell to Bandai's expectations, so this might be the last Gattai robot for some time. So it's bad news for you Voltes fans, but on the other hand Bandai might get around to making a larger size Gaiking and maybe even a Jeeg figure.
