Hi my dear robot fans! yes ... I want to get one of them , either the gx-05 gaiking or gx-05r gaiking but I can't decide .... which is better? is the defrence really worth the extra bucks? I heard that the paint job on the restile one is better than the original one! but I kinda like the paint job on the gaiking figure in the original GX-05 more .... please advise me!

Recently faced with the same dilemma, I went with the GX-05R Hong Kong version. It's the repaint with a free specially-packaged black Gaiking.

Since the GX-05 is hands down the least popular SOC ever, I would go with the cheaper price. The GX-05 was the first SOC I have ever bought. I bought it in 2001 because I loved giant robots but had just gotten married and was living with late fees I paid like 60 dollars for mine and we were happily ever after.

I personally like GX-05R just because of the darker colours, but I have GX-05 and I'm pretty content with him. As for Gaiking, I think the best version would be a mix of him from GX-05R (arms, legs, head) and GX-05B(chest), it would be all chrome and shiny .

I know what you mean Granzaser. I love my Gaiking as well - but people really complain that he is small and the focus wa on Dakyumariu (did I speel that right?). He broke a sequence of in-scale models but then again, I think this "in scale" thing is only apparent. Isn´t Grenzdizer supposed to be much taller than the Great Mazinger and the Mazinger than the toy is. and also, Gaikingis 258 meters tall, That is what 1 and a 1/2 Grendizer? Would this mean a 2 feet dakyumariu to accomodate a 11" Gaiking? If you really want this, stop complaining and go buy the daigokins!
