Well, I finally got my silver Getter Robo team yesterday (along w/ HK Ltd Ed. MMM Clear Gundam) and just so impressed with these! These are so nice! I did have some problems joining the torsos to the legs at first but finally figured out to keep the button depressed and to use a fair amount of force. The box was damaged (Ebay seller didn't do a great packing job) but the goods inside were all new!
So what do you guys think? Now that I've got the Getter Robo team, how important is it to get GX-18, 19, and 20? They do appear to be quite similar...

I have the other half of the team- GX 18, 19, & 20. These guys are as close to perfection as toys get. I'm looking for the GX06 set, but I want to get the painted one first before the chrome. By the way- who did you get it from? JWM

Toy perfection... I like that. My next SOC will have to be the black and chrome EVAs (I don't own any of them) then Grandizer by Christmas. Then, Boss Borot somewhere along the line? Btw, I bought mine off Ebay, from 'mini-van_hobby' The seller immediately had another GX-06M set for sale: Item number 5910217625 If you win the bid, I'd suggest you email him to pack it in a bigger box with some protection before shipping it out as my box was really bad shape when I received it.

I have the GX-06M also. It is a cool set. I kinda hate the fact that Bandai puts the squeeze on us due to the fact that it comes with either a ship or figure that didn't come with the regular version. Pertaining to the possibility that you might want a BOSS BOROT, Hobbylink Japan is selling a re-issue of it in August, so you might want to buy it earlier, in case supply gets scarce...

You have to get the gx-18, 19 & 20! It is a must for the soc collector. LOL. I just got my gx-18, 19, 20 a few days ago and I'd only opened Dragun but I was amazed by the amount of diecast in it. I can't wait to get to Poseidon because he is the heaviest of the 3 so I bet he's got the most metal.

I recently purchased the Original GX-06 set. I already had the GX-06M, and wanted the regular colors.
I must say that I think I actually prefer the silver training colors. Well for now anyway, maybe my mind will change down the road.
The silver set is far less money too, so some of you guys might want to consider it.

I used to have the GX-06M, sold it, and bought a GX-06. I also have the complete Getter G SOC's. I have the GX-06M reserved from my toy supplier.
All I need to complete my Getter Army is the Neo Getter One: Trainer Version.
The GX-06M does have some difficulties locking with the lower torso, especially Getter One. But once you get the hang of it, it'll be easy.

I've been watching that auction too, but since your already bidding on it, I won't get involved ;D. I already have all the SOC's except for Boss and the chicks, so I've been thinking about getting the varients I don't have (GX-06M, GX-05B, GX-03B, GX-01RG)

Hey, I have a question about the Getter team... I noticed on Toyboxdx some pics of Getter 1 holding a gattling gun and then there's a picture of Getter 1 brandishing this rifle with a bayonet on the end of it... why didn't Bandai include these accessories with the GX-06? Or are these weapons not normally used?

Hey Cedar, I think the Gatling gun and rifle were from the newer OVA anime called Shin Getter Robo.

Thanks Mazingox,
While on the topic of Getter, at what point would the Getter Machines change into Getter 2 or Getter 3?
I guess when the pilots need to kick serious butt, they'd combine into Getter 1... But would Getter 2 be the 'scout' mode and Getter 3 be considered a 'defensive' mode? Or is it more Land, Sea, and Air based modes?
I never watched the anime and would love to know more about these toys!

Getters are usually broken up into land, sea, air, as their specialty but also Getter 2/Liger was the fastest, Getter 3/Posiedon was the strongest, and Getter 1/Dragon was the balance of the two. That's why Getter 1/Dragon was used most of the time, and also the fact he was the most "Super Robot" looking. Every incarnation of the Getters still follow this principle, even the new Shin Getter 2004 OVA.

A store near me has the trainer, is it worth it? It just looked White on the box (from what I remember). Bill Yep, it's basically white, with some silver (or was that gray?) trims. It has the same accessories as the regular colored Neo Getter. The reason I am getting it is to complement my Devil Wing Shin Getter One, and to complete my Getter Army. How much is it selling for?

Bill, that's not too bad, but I'd see if you can talk the store into knocking off about $15-20 bucks. You might weigh how badly you want it since you have the original already, it's not like you can just go next door and get it for cheaper. I love mine, but am fearful of leaving prints on it so I have them in the poses that I want for a while and have let them be. They look... ...expensive and I just love looking at them, but not playing with them.
