If the band is portrayed as perverse and portrays the SOC in a perverse way, then yes I agree with you. If it's used in an innocenent way, and the band has edifying music in general then I think it would be ok.

I neg to differ from you my friend.
I see our little metal robots as the "ultimate toy collection" due to the suberb design and craftsmanship involved in these little figures as well as their unique motiff - Giant Mecha - pop culture. I see them as close to an art form toys can get.
Therefore, I like the use of any of these pieces in other mediums such as Music.
Just my 2 cents.

I think a still frame of her from the original series would have been better. For some reasone that wouldn't have bothered me. But since it's a photo of a new toy it looks like one of the many pictures I've taken. Kinda low budget. Maybe I'm just going off cause I think it's bad art, the photo the text, everything... Ok I can officially be ignored now.

I wonder how many people would be able to identify the picture at all. I'll bet ninety-nine out of a hundred people in the US wouldn't even identify it as having anything to do with Japanese animation. Another thought: Do you think this band obtained permission from Bandai to use the image? I suspect there could be copyright issues here. Or are they just figuring to fly under the radar? JWM

JWM I was just thinking the same thing. Isn't that one of the actual photos used on the SOC box? It probably would be less of a problem if it were an original photo, but I don't think that is.

I think it depends on what they bought on the rights for the actual photograph from the photographer. Bandai may have limited amount of rights for that photograph, a year or two.. and there fore the band could have contacted the photographer and asked if they could use it in a one publish deal with the band. or maybe they just bought rights for just using it for their box art...
