Hey Lanmandragoran. Nothing is puny..remember, we all have to start somewhere...mine is nothing compared to some other collectors I know. Anyhoo...what is project Iron Soul? Is that the Iron Castle Mazinger? Carlo Project Iron Soul is the Bandai book on the SOC, with all the models plus the customs. Regards

WOW! Some of you guys built your SOC collections rather quickly. I've only been collecting SOCs since January of 2003 and this is all I have. I wish I had more kidneys to sell...
[updated the list I posted back in March] 1. GX-03B Combattler V 2. GX-02 Great Mazinger (original) 3. GX-07 Maz OVA 4. GX-06 Getter Robo (gave to my brother last year to get him started in his own collection) 5. GX-10 Boss Borot (prolly my fave for being the most handled SOC) 6. GX-13 Dancougar 7. GX-12 Venus 8. GX-08 Aphrodai (sold her to get some cash for Eva 01, big mistake) 9. GX-14 Eva 01 10. GX-15 Eva 02 11. GX-16 Eva 00 blue 12. GX-18 Dragun (passed to my brother) 13. GX-20 Poseidon (passed to my brother) 14. GX-22 Eva 04 15. GX-23 Zambot 3 16. GX-21 Eva 03 17. GX-17 Eva 00 yellow 18. GX-01R (came in a few days ago)
My other Japanese robots: Original 80's Matchbox Voltron Takara MP-01 Takara BT-01 Takara BT-02 Takara BT-04 Gourai-Senpuujin Amdriver (crap I tell you, despite my inital enthusiasm for em) MH Mazinkaiser Kawai Shokai MH Mazinkaiser Blackwing Int.
And I can't forget about what started up the toy addiction [again] 5 years ago...
...Macross: Yamato 1/60 VF-1* *all variants (except the D, VT-1, and VE-1) Bandai 1/55 Reissue VF-1 variants Hikaru A, Max A, CanonFodder A, J, and Fokker's Super S Yamato 1/48 VF-1S and separate Fast pack set
CRAP! I would probably have a down-payment for a house by now!
Edit: Forgot about the Mac+ Diecasts that really started my current Chogo addiction and the MM Gundams.

Hi Koji, Where in Manila do you buy? I have relatives there still so I can send them to the places you buy from. Let me know please. Ronin No prob. Got to www.greattoys.net. We have our own local message board full of Filipino collectors. Go to greattoys.proboards18.com. I am one of the mods there. I suggest you lurk first. If you guys ever come back, I can hook you up with the local toy collectors scene. Also, I go to the U.S. once every 2 or 3 years to visit relatives in the East and West Coasts. So if you guys have a con, I might be there.

Yeah, me too...or maybe you can be our contact? Nice way to earn some extra dough...hee hee let me know! I don't like to make money off my fellow collectors... too much. If I sell one of my toys and make a profit that's okay. But I don't think I would do this to make money on the side. I love toys, so do you guys... so let's just have fun! Party on!

Koji, dme3o you guys are INSANE INSANELY HAPPY! Nothing wrong being a kid as long as the bills are paid, there are no debts and money is set aside for retirement. The Mrs. is more concerned about storage space then anything... then, again I don't tell her how much I spend on toys! ;D

Congrats to all of you guys!! I have a puny collection (but growing) collection. There are no such things as puny collections! I like to hear collectors share stories about their toy hunts. THe passion that it takes to start and build a collection, no matter how small, has my respect. For me, size doesn't matter, just the heart behind the collection!

My friends give me hell for the money I spend, but the SOCs make me happy. In the end if I'm happy then it doesn't really matter how much they cost as long as it's justified. You are indeed a wise man ;D Your lady would freak if she new the prices of some of this stuff. ;D

My first SOC was the GX-14. I really liked Neon Genesis, and I thought it would be really cool to have a metal Evangelion. That was like saying, "I'd like to eat one of those potato chips." Now I have GX-13 through 23. With GX-07 on the shelf, and GX-06 on the way from Hong Kong. I got the Chogokin Hyaku Shiki, which is a great little toy, and the Zeta Gundam, which is unimpressive. I've also got the first six GT The Chogokin figures, and the GT-07 Getter Two machine is coming with the GX06. Now, of course I have the makings of a searching frenzy going. I need the The Chogokin Getter Three machine (I think it's GT-09) to complete the mini-Getter team. Very hard to find.... JWM

Wowwee, I'm embarrassed to post my collection up! I guess it all started in April when I got MP Convoy and MMM Gundam, but I actually bought my first one in June 04 and got helplessly hooked... here goes, in order of purchase (at least I can still remember my order of purchase!): - Masterpiece Convoy (gift) - MMM Gundam Launcher & Sword Strike (gift) - GX-01B (bought it myself!) - Medicom Jin-Roh (bought it a week later after GX-01B!) - MMM Gundam Launcher & Sword Strike Clear (eBay) - GX-06M (eBay) - GX-05 (eBay, 2nd hand) - A bunch of Microman toys in between! Coming soon (TOMORROW): - EVA... or Aoshima Mazinkaiser? Actually, not bad, considering I started obsessing about these guys about a month and a half ago. There should be a period of two months before I can afford to buy anything else... hehehe (evil grin).

Wowwee, I'm embarrassed to post my collection up! I think I am speaking for 99% of the people on this forum when I say that we all started with one SOC, so don't be embarrassed. my first die cast robot (not counting old transformers from when I was a kid) was actually a Giant Robo missile version. It all starts somewhere. Welcome aboard the SOC train ;D

Oh, I had my fair share of chogokins growing up as a kid, including Grendizer, Daiku Maryu, Red King, several Macross Valkyries, Transformers, and my fave Voltron (with the five tigers). I never took care of them and over time I would lose weapons, missiles, drop them, scratch them, break them, etc.
Almost all of them were from Hong Kong (I got Red King while in Las Vegas, of all places). Somewhere along the way, I developed a passion for GI Joe, and then comic books, and then videogames, and then DVD movies. Then, this year I received two awesome chogokins for my 30th birthday (MP Convoy, and the MMM Gundam) and started to do a bit of research at first, just to see if there were any more Masterpiece Transformers or MMM Gundams and then found out about the Binaltechs and of course Soul of Chogokin among other things...
I hold Toyboxdx.com, and Tim Brisko's pictures responsible.
My old chogokins and GI Joes, they're all gone now... I think we donated them to Value Village, the US equivalent to Goodwill. I know now they're worth a mint, and I regret it now, about 15 years after the fact.
This list is my new 'born again' collection!

You are indeed a wise man ;D Your lady would freak if she new the prices of some of this stuff. ;D You can use these as excuses: 1) Dear, they are not just toys! They are an investment!! 2) Think of it this way, honey. At least I don't spend it on booze or other women. 3) err... I can't think of anything else now. ;D
