Sorry to hear that mpchi, I agree that Zambot is a little tempermental and not one of the more playable SOC's, but he does make a nice display piece . The only quality issue I had with him was on Zambase, the red on the cockpit had some deep chips but they are not too noticable in his combined form.

After spending more time on my Zambot 3, it did grow on me more. It may not be a great SOC purchase, especially due to all the flaws I came across, but when placed side by side with the Big Dan & Combattler V, they do look heck of cool together. In some way, I actually prefered Combattler V over Zambot 3 as Combattler is more solid with very few add-ons or fragile pieces. More playing friendly (except the weak ankles). But when they were put side by side, Zambot 3 wins hands down on looks and heft. ;D Chen, like you said, Zambot 3 is a great display piece, and its fun to pull out Zambo Ace once in a while. Most likely, I'll leave Zambull & Zambase combined most of the time, and treat Zambot 3 more like a big-small robot combo, rather than a 3-piece combiner. At least I think I'll like it better that way.

You....can't...play...with...it..........GRAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! HURUKU SMASHU!
Yar. Well, sorry it seemed to break so easily. There is no way in hell that I'm going to spend 180 bucks on a toy that you can't play with it. Thanks for the review Mpchi.
Fug-- is ranty today.

Yup. When it comes to SOC combiner, Big Dan & Combattler sure beats Zambot 3 in playability. Both Dancouga & Combattler doesn't have many swapable parts, and doesn't have fragile spikey horns, wings, or pegs that can easily snap off if you aren't careful handling the figure. If there are any, like Combattler's antenna or Dancouga's little cannons, they are soft & bendable, with nothing that tends to fall off no matter how you handle the toy. Fugly, if you plan on getting one of the SOC combiners for play, go for Dancouga if you have the dough (only major flaw is the sucky neck), or go for Combattler V that almost cost half as much (only major flaw is the loose ankle that easily allowing the figure to lean & fall forward. Very scary for a shelf display, as it loves to do nose dive). Other than these flaws, the rest of the figure are rock solid with very solid clicking/ratchet joints, not like the weak, unpredictable ones on my Zambot. One of the arm ratchet join actually got so loose and doesn't click at all after a while . Luckily, it kind of fixed itself after I kept rotating/bending the joint for a while. Seems like it got some pretty weak spring, or the spring inside got mis-aligned or something. Scare the heck out of me there for a moment. Dan maybe a bit big to be handled a lot, but is rock solid all the way. Combattler is smaller & lighter, and quite slim too, but also rock solid for handling and play. Just be really aware of the loose ankle & don't wear it out too soon, and AVOID transforming to the Grand Dasher mode, which was the whole point to have that problematic ankle hinge. I almost wanted to super glue it so that my Combattler can stand like it should, but probably not such a good idea in case I do want to get into Grand Dasher mode...oh well.

Sorry to hear about your Z3 having so much problems. So far, the only problems I've had on mine was the right Zambuster attachment on the side of the right knee. The rest has been great. Anywhoo, hope it does grow on you because Z3 is actually a very awesome piece to own. Myself, I'm still on the fence with Dancouga, as I've seen to many issues with it to count. But I might juse cave in and buy one when I have the budget.
