He is indeed an amazing piece! I have one myself. Question though. Have any of you experienced a problem where sometimes he tends to fall forward because of the hinge joint where his legs join the feet? Happened to me 2 times I hope I didnt do anything wrong. Now I make sure he is leaning against something in my display cabinet, I'm afraid he will fall off the shelf.

Ronin777, just add a small drop of super glue or nail polish to thicken the circular nob on the yellow plastic on #5 (feet). It should work wonders. Just make sure you don't glue down the joint. The Grand Dasher transforming joint(ankle) is common to be very loose. Just use tiny bit to thicken that circle nob to give it more friction. Mine doesn't nose dive on me no more. Nah it's just you . Yeah the black version looks more buff, probably because of the limited colours make it look more solid and here I thought black was sliming.

I've just bought what I suspect to be a secondhand GX-3 Com-battler V. Just to make sure, did the gold Com-battler sticker on the side of the display stand pre-attached? Also, does the original box contain any other stickers?
Thanks?

Yes pre-attached. No other stickers.

I guess I got a new GX-03 Com-batter then. With the poor quality of most SOCs, it's difficult to tell. (Just read the complaints on another thread.)
What about the pair of lances? My GX-03's lances have dull and scratched chrome paint. I'm just wondering if I should buy another GX-03 and GX-03B from the shop that I purchased one from two weeks ago. The box are c8-c9 condition.

Well chrome paint is bound to come off easily. I didn't have that problem w/ mine yet cuz it's brand new. But one of the lances is kinda crooked... ha ha ha.

I have the GX-03B. I couldn't resist getting this SOC since I never got the original Popy version that I dreamed about as a kid. ;D

Likewise, I never got the original Popy DX Com-battler V. I'm more of a Voltes V fan, though since I watched the anime series on TV when I was a kid. In contrast, I never got to see the original Com-battler V series. I've read that Com-battler V influenced the concept and design of Voltes V. Both the Popy DX version of Com-battler V and Voltes V were too expensive when they were released in Asia in the 70's. Anyway, I bought the SOC GX-03 Com-battler V because I'm expecting Bandai to release a SOC Voltes V. It'll look cool if both toys stood side by side on my display shelf along with my Gashapon Com-battler V and Voltes V. Well, a miniature, cheap plastic version is better than none, right? So, do you think both the GX-03 and GX-03B are worth it. I'm planning to buy a GX-01B (Mazinger Z Black Version) this week. I saw a GX-04B (Grendizer Black Version) on display at one toyshop here. I wasn't too impressed. Say, I also saw a Japanese Chogokin commemorative "mook" (Japanese term for "magazine-book") for NT$3,000 (91 USD) in a bookshop here. It includes a DVD featuring old Japanese Chogokin TV commercials. I guess I'll be spending a lot this week.

I recently purchased a GX-03B, and I am a very happy camper! Here's my Black Combattler V, with Zambot 3 (sorry for the grainy pics)

well, I waited and waited and waited, and then it was out of stock, so i searched and searched and searched... now I finally got my very own SOC COmbattler V! YAY! ;D now for the bad part: Bent antennas on the tank!! arrrgh! luckily enough, the plastic used have a better "memory" so I managed to bend it back straight without looking too crappy. anybody else had this bad luck? Other than that, its BULLDAFULL! ;D

The antenna on my Battle Machine 3 was also bent, but was easily fixed with a little coaxing. ;D
