How many do they release of each SOC? Example: Did they only release 1,000 copies of GX-25 Garada 7? Or was it more like 10,000? I've always been curious...

I recall reading somewhere that the standard production numbers for toys are somewhere between 5,000-10,000 units, but I could be wrong, as it may also depend on the company's capacity to produce/re-produce these items.

Hmm... if that's true, I'll go check the "certificate" in my Toynami Robotech Valkyrie to see how many of those there were. I've long maintained that Toynami used the "limited edition" clause as an excuse, not a reason, to charge their outrageous prices for a domestic (North American) toy. If the actual production number is even smaller, then I'll shut up...

Toynami makes 15,000 each of it's Veritechs.

It means that each SOC is limited Edition. Sounds good ;D I always think that Toynami do the "certificate" just for sale their valkeries and rise their prices. ;D

15'000, eh? Ugh... this means I finally have imperical fact to say, "I knew it!" I've been right the whole damn time - Toynami is using the phrase "limited" as a friggin' excuse to price their product the way they do. Not that I doubt our man, Omni - but I'd like to see a solid figure on a typical SoC run too. We know that Bandai sometimes "goes back to press" on popular issues like the GX-14 and GX-15 (thereby making the EVA-00 issues rarer of the bunch). But still - I'm talking initial run - since each of those sold for about 3/4 of the price of a Toynami Veritech toy on a first-run.

It's kind of interesting/disturbing to find out that no one seem to know how many Bandai releases per SOC...

I've been right the whole damn time - Toynami is using the phrase "limited" as a friggin' excuse to price their product the way they do. Yep! Toynami made 15,000 Vertiech toys in it's initial run, so it's not as limited as other previously released toys. The article was a generalized approximation of items being released by a toy company for a specific line, not exactly the SOC line, so yah, I'd welcome specifics that anyone can provide. As mentioned the number of items that a manufacturer releases can also depend on their production capacity. On a similar note, there are some numbers on my GX-07 box, that says "#007 of 1000" Does that mean the GX-07 I have, is the 7th of 1000 to be produced? Just curious. ;D

Hello Omni Existence. Where do you find that number on SOC box. I want to know my robot's number in comparrison to the amount released. Thanks. I'm not even sure if it is indeed the product number of the toy or the box. That's why I'm asking he he he he ;D Anywhoo, I found mine on the left-hand side flap/lid. The front of the box should be facing you.

Salamat, Omni Existence. Mine says 001. I doubt if my SOC GX07 was the first one made. But heck, if it was... That would be totally cool.

Some of the numbers they have on the box don't make sense. For example, I have an extra SOC for some that I have on display and the numbers on their boxes are identical. I mean, can you tell the difference between the 1st edition GX-01R from the recent edition they have on the market these days? I doubt it.
That is a good question though, about how many Bandai makes of one product. Do they count the ones without the official stickers? Is there a different criteria for the SOC that's sold in domestic market compared to the ones sold in the international market?
