Okay, I'm new here so forgive me if this has been answered before. Anyway, while surfing around the mother site for this board, I found some SOC links which had Combattler V GX-03 with a foot note indicating that there is a 2003 GX-03R Combattler V. I never heard of such animal, if this does exist, please tell me what has been changed and if you guys have pics this will be much appreciated. I have every SOC and this one eluded me and it is peaked my interest.
BTW...Does "R" really mean "remastering"? I thought it was reissue...
"Note the well packed wonderful styrafoam presentation box. Bandai's glossy box art is very well done.
Recently, 2003, there has been a reissue of this 90's SOC toy which is designated GX-03R for "remastering". "

Hmm... might be a leftover typo. Check out the "Timeline" thread in this very forum for a complete list of updated SoCs and their release dates (and prices at the time of release). (It also includes the SoP line)....
As far as I know, GX-03 was rereleased in late 2003 (around Christmas time, IIRC - places like HLJ suddenly had more stock available to sell). It was a straight rerelease without any changes to the product so was still called GX-03 without the "R" designation.

Yup, there is no R version of GX-03 but just a re-issue, although there are slight variations in the plastic and paint shade, but that has more to do with trying to match 10 year old plastics and paint.
Also "R" versions usualy mean revised or re-engineered while "MA" means Mazinger Angels so technicaly there not revised versions.

I think I remember andrewdsz mentioning that the 99' version came with a diecast Super Electromagnetic Spin, while the re-issue's was made of plastic.

This also reminds me - there was this seller on eBay (he hasn't listed anything in a while) who had this "rare" metal sword accessory for GX-03... I'm not horribly familiar with Combattler to begin with - but does anybody know about this thing? Obviously for SoC completists only.

the metal sword was a HK exclusive.
I have the first version, and there is no diecast electromagnetic spin

The diecast Lancer...Like he said was an HK gift...I would imagine that it is a nice compliment to the toy, albeit heavy and possibly will fall off a lot out Combattler's hands...

You usually see the Metal Lancers on Ebay for around $30.00 U.S, but I hear that there so heavy that Com-Battler can't even hold them up.
