It's true, a lot of times the prototype pics tend to look better than the final pieces. Is it the anticipation of seeing the final version? Or could it be you really see all the details in the sculpt before the paint draws attention from it?

I swear, some of the the monochrome mock ups look cooler than the finished product. JWM I agree, I think the monotone grey makes them look like little concrete statues. I think once you start putting colour on them they go from being mini works of art to toys.

I still have those prototype pics in my archives as well. We're like 'pack-rats.'
One the best protoypes I've seen is the GX-18 Getter Dragon. I can't believe how my anticipation for the fool thing was dampened when I saw the final colored pics.

I've got the magazine, so I will always have the prototype pics at least from GX-01 - GX-24 lol Speaking of the Magazine, at the end of the mag they feature a few itneresting items...I assume they are custom but not having the benefit of reading Kanji or any Nippongo scripts, I don't know...do any of you guys know?
