Yeah, my least favorites are the ones I didn't buy: GX-32 Gold Lightan, GX-33 Leopardon, GX-37 King Joe (I used to be an SOC completist until these guys were released. I sort of lost faith until Gunbuster came out!!! And now I am back collecting)
I have GX-30 Battle Fever and I wish that I never got it.
Hey, guys... I know that it's tough to hear people trashing your favorite robots. But you know what, folks least favorite SOC's seem to be prety consistent/cross the board. There may be truth to that... They are not aesthetically pleasing.
And it's not that I don't give chance to robots I am not familiar with. Heck, I have not heard of a good number of the SOC's I've acquired. In fact, I had no backfround info on my top 2 SOC favorites, Gunbuster and Dancouga.
Okay, on the 2 worst designs... Yes, I would say Combattler V (mine keeps falling apart, I must have dropped its lower part 10 times) and the first Gaiking (it's so flimsy). However, they both look cool and I am familiar with them and so I don't consider them my worst.
I can't even express to you how excited I am about GX-39 Baikanfu! I hope to get it for Christmas. Initially, I was going to ask for Iron Gear but I now have way too many "red" SOC"s. Plus, it does not appeal to me that much.

The EVAs are great in my eyes and WAAY underappreciated. They are non traditional, but completely cutting edge, pliable, & not at all vintage; maybe it takes another generation of collectors to fully appreciate them. As to the point of this thread, I find it interesting to read and have buyers reflect on their poor purchase. Sometimes it is a loss of interest. But when the toy falls apart and disappoints it is good to hear about. I didn't buy the Xabungle, but thought it was puny. Having parts fall off is icing on the cake and helps me, at least, feel like it doesn't deserve my spending budget ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png)

The EVA 3 S.O.C. was my first chogokin ever, and I think it is a great toy! It's probably the most fun to play with out of my small collection so far... (which would be the Titanium Rodimus, Masterpiece Optimus, and Sozetsu Gold Gaofighgar), so I'm also confused on the amount of hate for the Eva's...

I was highly disappointed in my S.O.C. Eva-01 and would rate it the lowest in my meagre S.o.C. collection due to the fact that it can barely stand up. Its hips were _extremely_ loose out of the box, as were the knees and waist. I was able to stiffen the knees with the magical substance that is future floor wax, but I don't know what to do about the hips or waist, as there seem to be glued screw covers keeping me from opening him up to repair him.
I love my Walker Machine Galliar. He's full of adorable 80's anime robot love.

GX-07 is the best SOC IMHO. Most accurate portrayal of the original Mazinger with a nice face. I wished that it would get reissued so that I can buy a couple more. GX-01 and GX-01R are actually pretty lame in comparison cus they can't even pose a fire blaster and their faces are ugly.
Pretty much the stuff that sits in stock in BBTS that is not an re-issue is what sucks, so my tastes pretty much agree with most people.
King Joe and Lighta both get the award for the ugliest SOC.

sometime has passed since the last input. I personally love Gold Lightan! I watched the show as a kid and cannot ask for more from a toy! It looks awesome (better than in the show because of the actual shining gold), weights a lot despite the size, great transformation, and super poseable. The only minor grip I have is the need to remove hands before transformation.
Walker Galliar is the same, it does what it's supposed to do, have great articulation, and have lots of accessories, so what's not to like from a toy aspect?
I'm interested to see if people's perspective has changed, and want to hear what people think is the "worst SOC" but only in terms of toy quality, but not dislike / hatred of the character itself!!!!
My least favorite SOC, out of the ones I own, is probably GX-02B and GX-28. The black great mazinger has lots of parts that would fall down, and mine came with a cracked breast piece. I had to clue it so the crack won't extend and fall apart. Besides, the GX-02B, like all the other GX-01s and GX-02s, is not very articulated (thank God for GX-45!).
GX-28 is actually quite cool in terms of what it can do, but it is small and has lots of falling parts. However I am liking it a lot better now that I have applied nail polish to the pegs and parts stay on much better now.
Talk about least favorite chogokin, the fewture great mazinger repaint comes to mind. Something falls off everytime I touch it! it's either the entire right hand, one or both of the chest plate, or the pilder, of the fists......it doesn't help that it's a $300 figure. I have minor chips here and there on this figure because of all the fallen parts!!!! I love how it looks but it sucks that all I can do is to carefully pose it and leave it in the display.

My least favorite has always been (and will likely forever be) the Eva-01 SOC... horribly loose joints and weak ratchets make it a floppy mess. I've dumped so much nail polish and superglue into its joints trying to turn it into something even loosely resembling stable have practically turned it into a statue.

Yeah, the Evas were all a little cheesy, the articulation is real good though, but I hate the fact that they made us buy the same toy 4 times! The worst ever for me would be the GX-05, Daiku Maryu. The little round things that go on his joints of the legs broke off one at a time, just by breathing on it wrong. The Gaiking was way too small and never stayed together, always falling apart!

For me the worst are GX-01X The Hangar & GX-13 Dancouga. The Hangar was not working when I brought it.I heard from a lot of people having this problem. For Dancouga the head is not firmly secure. How could Bandai release these products when they have such a serious flaw? What are the QC in Bandai doing?

I just wanted to put another positive word out for the underappreciated Battle Fever J. Sure, it doesn't transform, but it's nicely articulated and has tons of METAL accessories. Not complicated but still fun to play with.

This is a vengeance thread ! HA HA HA ! Okay, let me in.
- King joe is very cool (design, combiner...) but why does it have no articulation for shoulders ! and the waist magnet is too weak -> Ihave too say each time someone come into my lair : "watch out, this one, you have to take it by the legs...
- GX-14 Eva 01 : the juncture of the shins are not so well... "linked" because of the thickness of the metal (but maybe it's just my exemplary)
...
But they are not really the worst... it's just some imperfections... But the really worst is all that extra limited quantity model you get by collecting magazine coupons ! ! !
And the king of the king of the worst S >:(C is : GX-01 RB ! ! ! (I can be completlist... DAMN you Bandaï !)

Not complicated but still fun to play with. Battle Fever rocks, man! All of the weapons are practically metal (unfortunately the shield weren't, but it would be too heavy anyway), plus it has a very good poseability. You can pose it drawing it's katana very convincingly ![8-)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/cool.png) . The only problem I had with mine is that the thumb on the katana hand fell off, but was easily fixed with superglue.

To me, there is no bad SOC. Why? because i value them based on the price i paid for.
for example:
Gold Lightan - $10, would you say it's worst? it happens to be one of my favorits. I got all 11 of them except that Bandai doesn't make print lightan.
OVA MAZ - $30 SOC EVA - $30...etc
I can go on and on and on... if you are a smart buyer than you wouldn't regret buying the item. you pay what you get.
However, if it has some QC issue and it is not the toy itself fault, but the manufacturer. I would blame it on the toy.
SOC line has been fairly good. some obiously don't worth the price they initially asked for, that's why you wait and buy.

Weird that nobody has mentioned the Reideen and the Koutetsushin Jeeg. I don't dislike these two, but they are severely floppy SOCs. Jeeg can barely stand on its own, and Reideen is way short, skinny, and can't keep its accessories on to save its life.
However, these are not on my list as worst SOCs...

Funny, the three SoC I own (Leopaldon, BFJ, and King Joe) are the ones people seem to hate, even funnier is that I'm obtaining an EVA as my next one. I'd say King Joe is the worst out of the ones I own, way too fiddly and the shoulder articulation won't allow you to do him familiar pose.

Well, it's not the worst SOC by far, but the only SOC I have refused to buy is GX-45. I own every other SOC and cannot bring myself to buy another Maz. Even if it is a new improved mold, it is the same character I already have multiples of. I may change my mind later, but this is the first time I have ever had no interest in a new SOC.

The worst SOC in my opinion is between King Joe (just a Fugly design) and that cheesy Xabungle! That was not worthy to be in the same line with a Gunbuster and Dancouga.

So much Xabungle hate! I got him about a month ago and I love him to death. He's not the biggest SOC, but he's fairly stable and with some modifications to the hips you can get some great poses out of him. The transformation is great too. All in all he's a great desk companion, and the Brockery kit is just amazing. I think people hate on him because he's a real robot design. If he was released today, he'd probably go in the SPEC line.
