Looks like Print Lightan gets no love. I'm guessing that those cartridges were made by some long-gone OEM for Bandai and it would have cost too much

Yup. For some reason Print Lightan gets omitted in the HK lightan box sets. Did Bandai ever re-released the Print Lightan?

These guys are really cool. I had the new Gold, and Scope Lightans, but I gave them to my nephew. I was going to get the gift box set, but Baikanfu was just too much to resist.

Is there a difference (aside from the packaging) between GX-32 Gold Lightan, the Gold Lightan that part of the box set and one that I see selling for like $13 (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=BAN11207&mode=retail)?
Just curious... I might get this afterall (the Spiderman and King Joe may follow--despite me swearing never to get them).

The SoC Gold Lightan I think is superior since all the parts are gold. IIRC the Gold Lightan (re-issue non-SoC) had black arms.

Cool stuff. How's the die-cast content like?

Cool stuff. How's the die-cast content like? They're excellent. One of the best "dollar-to-diecast ratios" if you ask me ;D

Man, my friends got me 3 of them Lightan, Scope Denji and Gold last year for my birthday. So sad to have seen them being sold at BBTS for 13$ each. I agree they are extremely nice and heavy with nice gold chrome, but I have the SOC Version and that's the only one I need. The Reissue comes in a nice box and all but I am not that big of a Lightan fan. I was kinda pissed when I found out that one of my friends had suggested to the group in getting me the Masterpiece Voltron, instead. I would have preferred that one much more, consider that they ended up paying about the same for the 3 Lightan over a year ago.

Oh there's a major difference. The SOC version has a much better body shape then the one with the black arms. It is a complete redesign. The other ones (the $13 & the one in wooden box set) is identical. They are exact replicas of the original Popy Gold Lightan, very boxy looking and less articulation. If you are a Lightan fan like me. Get both I even have the huge HK version that is 3-4 times as big as the original one. These are not really my type of aesthetics. However, I ended up get the 2 box sets on sale and I'd have to say they're really nice and I'm completely satisfied. CUTE and DIECAST filled. I'm a converted fan of these
