That's too funny. Looks to have been customized from the Kaiyodo "knock-off" vinyl Mazinger Z....I would love to see a close up of the bike pilder.

Customs look like so much fun. I think that after I find some time I need to get better at them. Smurfzinga -snicker-

Just yesterday I tried to reproduce Mazinga Z's fist. I first made rough molds based on Banpresto's repro fists. Then I cut the molds in half and baked them. It allowed me to get a "rough-in" of the fist size, dimensions, and material needed. Then I filled the two mold halves, pulled out the rough in, and put them together. My small amature sculpting came into play next. It looks o.k. for a first shot! Pictures to come. Of course the missile stem was too brittle -Ed

For the Missile stem...you may want to try and use plastic (like a sprew from a Gundam kit, you know...the tree that holds all your Gundam parts). Try and find a sprew section that is about the same width as the stem and cut it about 1/3 to 1/2 longer than what you need. Once you have found a section to use...place the sprew into a dremmel (mark off where the notch should be). Use your exacto to gently carve in the notch while the sprew is spinning in the dremmel. You may also try and sand down the sprew stem with the sprew stem still inserted in the dremmel and spinning it on some very fine modeling sand paper (curve the hard edge and reduce the diameter to close to original specs). Try to drill a hole (about the same width as the sprew (recreated stem)) in the center of the forearm (where the original stem would come out of the firing fist). The extra 1/3 to 1/2 inch will act as the anchor into the fist/forearm. Once drilled...test fit the sprew/stem. If everything is OK...super glue that puppy in place. Due to the weight of sculpy...you probably will not be able to fire the fist.... but it will make for a nice display to resemble a complete robo. Good luck!

Ahhh! I like the idea of using the Dremol as a lathe. Great hints. Indeed, repros make a BIG difference when you have a fist-less toy. The eye doesn't pick up repros that easily. Gracias -e
