I love this robot. I got the Goshogun Fever after seeing it from Erik Sjoen's collection. It is a very rare piece indeed and heavy too. I got mine a while back from Kaikodo.

What is your perspective on the rarity? To be specific, how many times have you seen it for sale in MIB condition? -And (if you don't mind) what prices does it tend to bring? Generalities are fine. -E

I have seen it on Ebay about 3 or 4 times. It pops up occationally on YahooJP. I have never seen it for sale untouched or MIMB. I've seen it go as far as $300+ and $250. I bought mine for $180. The toy is a C9+, but the box was a rough C8. What about the other mid-sized Takatoku robots like Bryger, Baxinger, and Xbomber? Are they heavy as well? I have the ST size Bryger and it is pretty heavy. I also have the mid and ST sized Gyutenoh robots, but they are pretty lightweight compare to the Goshogun and Bryger.

Hey Mikey,
I have all of the mid sized Takatoku ZGokins and they are all quite heavy if not heavier than the Combat Action GoShogun. The DX X-Bomber (mid-sized but deemed "DX" by TT) in particular, is a solid 9 inches of diecast and is one of the greatest Takatoku toys ever made. I HIGHLY recommend picking it up. Battle Action Bryger and Sankan -OH DX (once again the mid-sized but called "DX") would be my next recomendations.
I'm in the process of writing an piece for TBX all about the mid-sized TTs as they are an unusual pieces of Japanese toy history. Unlike their ST and DX gattai brethren that have show or anime specific transformations, the mid-sized TT Zgokin pieces transform into vehicles that are completely unrelated to the anime in any way. It's almost as if the engineers at TT decided upon using the "action" versions to reak havok on the traditional desings, in turn creating completely unique incarnations of the represented characters. Really interesting when you think about it. Much like the Bullmark monster pieces.. I mean c'mon, did Godzillas chest really open up and store missles, or did Baragon shoot stuff out of his stomach??
Bottom line.. Not only are these kick ass toys, they also really live up to the idea we have of these toys being "works of art" both aesthetically and from and engineering standpoint.
