Looking back on the past year, what would you say...
Was the best deal you got?$42 (shipping included) for GoDaiKin DX Bioman, DX Biodragon, and Super Abega team, all a little worn, but in amazingly good shape. A few weeks later, I got a second broken Super Abega set for 99 cents from a seller who I was already buying another item from (so shipping was basically free). I broke out the screw driver, made a near mint Super Abega set from the two worn ones, and also made a slightly broken and worn one from the leftovers. I sold the broken/worn one for $32. So, in essence, a decent DX Bioman and Biodragon, and a near mint Super Abega cost me a grand total of $10.99 (shipping included). Really not bad Was the worst deal you got?No bad deals this year (to off-set each year before!). I guess my worst deals were the ones in which I paid full (or close to full) price for bots I don't appreciate enough., like Transformers Armada Megatron, RID Landfill, Korean Trypticon and Sky Garry. Was the all around best bot that you bought?Hmmm. Probably a mint and complete Diaclone Fortress X. Was the MOST surprisingly cool bot that you got?Tie for the GoDaiKin Super Abega team (I didn't even know what they were. They just came in an amazingly cheap auction with the DX Bioman and Biodragon I wanted so badly!) and Power Rangers Shogun Megazord (got it cuz it was a cheap combiner. Had no idea each componant robot would be so cool and stand alone). Was the LEAST surprisingly cool bot that you got?Transformers Armada Megatron. I REALLY expected this toy to impress me after all I heard about it and with all I paid for it. Lousy in both modes with a really uncreative transformation and an obnoxious sound feature that triggers accidentally in the middle of the night. I would almost pay someone to take this thing. Was the most you spent for a single bot?Diaclone Fortress X. I had to buy two for a combined $550 in order to put together a complete one, but was able to sell the leftovers for $230, so it only really cost me $320. All the same, that's the most I've EVER spent for a single bot! Was the least you spent for a single bot?Takara Brave DX Jumbo Dugwan for $1 (plus $7.50 shipping). It's not the official release, but it is 1.5' tall and is pretty high quality! Non bot toys did you acquire? The complete set of Bionic Six good guys, all Mint On Card (of course, I opened the cards from the back so I can play with them, but still display them on card when done). Also, a couple of great Starcom toys (I have a passion for the toys, especially since they resemble some early Diaclone vehicles) that I got absurdly cheap. All in all, this has been the best year for collecting that I've had in the five years I've been doing it. I think that having a wide variety of toy interests this year has helped me to identify a ton of great steals. If I were only in to one or two toy lines, I would have only found one or two bargains all year. Hope everyone else had an equally good year. I know Ed's found a couple of great items

Was the best deal you got?... I would have to say that I was delighted with the purchase of the new Bandai Blue Max HLJ direct for about $60. I found out the hard way that Clover made Japanese boxed toys in Singapore ... curses.... Was the all around best bot that you bought? .... This year it would have to be the Takara Dougram BlockHead. I was simply amazed at how big it was and how cool the clear armor was. Was the MOST surprisingly cool bot that you got? .....The Japanese Power Rangers Galaxy zord (Blue robot) Was the LEAST surprisingly cool bot that you got? ....Bandai's Aphrodite A. All of my frieds like the shooting boobs Was the most you spent for a single bot? -snif- ...the Diaclone Big Base this year. I just couldn't find a good deal and complete toy without the cost. Was the least you spent for a single bot? .....(for the size) New old stock Voltes V ($45) less than retail. Non bot toys did you acquire?....My Garfield pencil topper

Was the best deal you got?
Ha! I don't think I ever get good deals on Japanese Toys! Maybe that Yamato Giant Robo when they got really cheap...
Was the worst deal you got?
I overpaid about +$40US for a DX Dragon Gundam at the Metreon in San Francisco...
Was the all around best bot that you bought?
The Black version Sempujin/Gourajin Giftset. Or the GX-07 SOC Manzinger Z. Perhaps the Uni-5 Mechbutton.
Was the MOST surprisingly cool bot that you got?
When I first got my US release DX Wildforce Megazord home I freaked out on the very japanese quality! Heft and Styrofoam and flawless transformations.
Was the LEAST surprisingly cool bot that you got?
My Baron Karza sucked pretty bad...
Was the most you spent for a single bot?
$130US for a Uni-5 jumbo Gaiking. I got it at Kimono My House in Emeryville, CA------coolest Japanese toystore in the US, so I knew what I was getting into. Man, I love that place.
Was the least you spent for a single bot?
I guess $25 each for those Nue Studio Powered Suits was nice 'n' cheep, but heard of them going for as low as $5.
Non bot toys did you acquire?
I honestly can't think of any...

Conchutter,
So that Black version Sempujin/Gourajin Giftset set is cool huh? I love the pictures with the green jewel accents.
Are there any special features added to it?

Was the best deal you got? My best deal was actually for Christmas gifts for the kids. It was the BanDai E.G.G.Bots from Walmart for $2.00 each so I got one for all four kids. And I liked them so much that I went and got one for me too (Walmart sold out pretty quick at that price). Was the worst deal you got? I really do not think I overpaid on any piece this last year....overall a pretty good year on purchases. Was the all around best bot that you bought? I would have to say it's a toss up between the BanDai Spacer set for Grendizer or the Aoshima/Miricle House Diecast Mazinkaiser. Both are VERY cool. Was the MOST surprisingly cool bot that you got? The Unifive Diecast Astroboy was MUCH better in person than from the pics. It is really a sharp toy. With a diecast metal base that resembles part of a globe and a multi position stand...WOW! You can even hang it on a wall to save on shelf space. It has light up eyes and wonderful articulation....especially the shoulders. Overall, a very nice piece to have. Was the LEAST surprisingly cool bot that you got? The Banpresto Patlobor robots..... 3' inches tall and ok articulation. Paint is OK but nothing to write home about. I do not recommend these...especially at $25.00 for a set of 4. Was the most you spent for a single bot? $250.00 for a POPY Daimos. This has been one toy I have been wanting for years...but was never able to find a good price. I decided to just bite the bullet and pend the money...and BOY am I happy that I did. Very clean and Minty mint with box and all accessories. Was the least you spent for a single bot? I paid $1.00 for a clearance MSIA RX-78...from (you guessed it) Walmart. Although it is the US release...a great figure for a buck. Non bot toys did you acquire? Living Dead Dolls......yeah yeah...but they are neat.

Best deal:
Yamato GITS 2 figures for only Ph 300 ($6) and a nifty Great Mazinger from the hero collection for only Ph 900 ($ 18), and to top it off I used a gift check so it's like buying it for free ;D ;D ;D
