Hello. I have an old toy that I've had since I was a kid and I don't know what it is!! It is a robot I had to put together. It is a unicorn/pegasus, black with red on the wings and a gold horn and gold eyes. one switch makes the robot walk, but if you flip the other switch first, when it walks, the wings will go up, the large guns mounted on the back will move out and forward, and the head goes down (i call this 'battle mode') The top of the head opens up to show a small pilot sitting in a seat. The robot is rather intricate and I couldn't put it back together if it broke because I lost the directions ages ago. I think I got it sometime during the early 90's.
Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, beki

That sounds like a Zoids robot to me. Try searching e-bay under Zoids.
-Good Luck~!

Could someone explain the zoids phenomenon to me? I don't understand the appeal.

Zoids are great fun to put together without glue so they appeal to modelers without the skills. A local store, Toy Wizzard, sells boat loads of these (imports) becuase the kids like to put things together. You have to admit that dinosaurs have always been a kid's favorite....

So they're snap together models? Do they do anything cool once you build them?
I guess this appeals to the Gundam crowd. I never really got into those either.

Yes, they are snap together models that press fit and often have wind up moving mechanisms. My old ones had stickers and moving guns, feet, heads, etc. They're kind of like moving models and sometimes have little men that go with the sets.
I liked them as a kid because they move and do things with batterys or wind-ups.
