Hi All,
I noticed that there is a robot survey on your index page. Why are Popy and Godaikin robots so popular? I'll admit I'm new, but why aren't transformers considered to be better???
I'm looking for personal reasons/opinions/etc.

Diaclone,
Welcome. I think it depends on the person you ask. Like you for instance, you might be into Transformers toys more than you are into Super Robot toys. Of course you will think that Transformers are better. If you ask someone who is into Super Robots they will probably say Super Robots are better.

I voted for the Godaikins ;D. I like them better for their heft, engineering, and super-robot history. ....then missiles, it's all about the missiles that fire -Ed

My vote was for Popy toys. You just have to hold them to appreciate them.... Transformers are great, but just not heavy enough for me.

The DX Daitaron is great but why is the Tryder so nostalgic? How did Sunrise do on the anime, because I never saw it? Did anyone see the anime? -e

Hey Diaclone1!
First off, lemme say I dig your username. Diaclone happens to be MY favorite toy line (especially the Pre-Car robots stuff). I love Transformers too (that's how I got into Diaclone and everything else). Having said that, I've recently begun to understand the attraction of the older robots. I'm particularly begining to dig a lot of the later Chogokin stuff that made its way into GoDaiKin. A lot of these robots have a very different look and feel than the Takara bots, and the ones that transform transform very differently too. I particularly love bots like Machine Dolphin and Super Abega. There's a child in me who still misses that late 70's "future" look those toys have.
Truth is, if you're into Transformers and Diaclone cuz you like transforming stuff, you should definately check out some later Chogokin stuff. MOST CHogokins don't transform into realistic vehicles the way late Diaclone and early TF do, but they REALLY capture your imagination. If you want a Chogokin to start on with a great transformation and convincing vehicle mode, you might try starting with Bioman. He's one of my favorites.

Would you have preferred a bag of crack? I could try to find you one, but proboards probably wouldn't like it Oh, by the way, I have pics of Bioman on my own site. spacebridge2000.tripod.com/inventory.html Most sites only show you one mode, but I got both. I'd post a more direct link to it, but tripod won't host pics outside of the original page. Just click on the GoDaiKin link and then on Bioman's name. Bioman's amazing. Doesn't even look like the same toy in the two modes. And the real fun is transforming him. I can't explain it other than saying "it feels good to transform him". Talk about a drug
