Why do you suppose that no one ever made a diecast figure of Johnny Sokko's flying robot? When I was little Giant Robot was my introduction to Japanese Robots, even before Gigantor, Raideen and Kikaida. You'd think that either Popy or Bullmark would have made one in their hayday, but no; we had to wait and settle for Yamato's deformed version to come out many, many years later. I don't get it.

I bet a Japanese company kept the marketing license and didn't use it. -Poor marketing.

I will probably get alot of slack for this.....but I LOVE THE ANIME GIANT ROBO!!!! I thought it was AWESOME! The story was fresh and new....and at the time when the only other Robo anime was Gundam....geepers this was much needed!
The anime version of Giant Robo was THE BEST makeover I had or have seen to a classic Robo (2nd being Red Baron from his own anime series). The though the new design was really something special and I actually like the anime version better than the original.
